You may have noticed that I am a casual, and new particpant on TTI, and I am glad for the heart-warming community that our brothers have established and continue to succsesfully run.
However you may have seen me critizizing, replying, story-telling and contributing to this fourm like a chicken with it's head cut off---in other words, only a few, select people actually know something about me. And i've gotten a few PM's asking about my backroung, hertitage, and personal information, so id like to take this time to talk abit about myself.
Being 12 years old-- I am one of few young posters on this site. I current reside in Toronto, Canada, and the multicultural envirmonent there is great and aweing once you get to really reflect about how differen't everyone really is, despite race and appearance.
However for me, the tight posistion a muslim abides to in the West is almost problematic-- and I have only been able to see this in recent years. My young age had barred me from really making a big difference to society, so all I have is my education that I have placed third in priority. ( After Deen and family of course) One may ask why I have done that? For me, it is simple. Education is a key factor in acheiving a posistion in life will people will listen to you, so my future aspiration is actually derived from religion and education mixed. So I hope to become an Islamic preacher when I reach maturity, where people might be able to listen to a truthful and non-corrupted voice of Islam.
Enough about that, you want something more personal, and to tell you, life in Canada won't let you hear anything pleasant. Through my very young and devolping social life-- I've been discriminated on, hated, ridiculed, and prejudged on the basis of religion. Other that had read my posts " My Trial" and " Hostile question" would be able to see what I mean. Life here is very hard, espiciallly for a Muslim who needs to go through a lot, and endure a lot of gossip that is completely derailed from the essence of Islam.
I suppose this is the reason why religion has been made appealing to me, I always look up to knowledge and try to apply it to God. And when I got to science, much religions were utterly knocked out. Which only left me with the one, and only truthful way of life--Islam. Which had a logical approach to all modern societys problems. At this time, I continue to study all cultures and religious ways of life--spesifically Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism and Sikhism, Which in reallity, had only made me understand the Qur'ans charges on their faults at a historical perspective.
So why am I here? Turn to islam is the Islamic community i've been yearning for, Muslims are a minority in Toronto, and what better way is there to attain something other than the internet?
To shed some more light-- My name is Waseem, I am age 12 , brown hair, black eyes, born in a Muslim family, with hard working parents, and striving for a growing education. I am an Arab, however english has quickly pushed that away. I can barely read the Qur'an because of my weak arabic, and I stutter to an extent were im not understandable. In fact, it would take me 4 minutes to read Sura Fatiha if I diden't have it memorized.
Thats me, and, sorry for writing so much.
