Having a doubt this time...

My friend's father had to undergo an operation on his eye, and ALAHMDULILLAH he is fine now..
As the doctor advised him not to move a lot, his family is not letting him to go to Masjid to pray Jumu'ah Salaah.

I JUST WANNA KNOW, IS JUMU'AH SALAAH OBLIGATORY UPON THIS UNCLE, WHEN HE IS FIT ENOUGH TO MOVE BUT DOCTOR SAYS DON'T...
