Is it okay to pray for someone to convert?

Am wondering whether it is right in islam to pray for someone close to you, like a half brother or sister to convert to Islam. Are there any special Duas or Surats that one can recite to ask or beg for Allah's Mercy in this matter. I would not like some very good people to go without guidance, and if i pray for it then i colud try, and wait for Allah to do what is best. He is the Most endowed in knowledge.

Prophet mohammad(sw) used to pray for for ummah and mushriq for thier guidness. SO where is the problem? As long as they are alive you can pray for their guideness.
