WARNING - personal opinion of a non-scholar to follow
Not sure about the Message (the Islamic movie I presume) .... but passion of the Christ is simply telling a lie from the Islamic perspective hence it should be haram. It was narrated that the prophet (pbuh) told his followers not to read from the Torah because it contains falsehoods.

I think that if you take the film at face value and see it as a story then i don't see any harm in it. However if you are going to watch the film and believe that is what happened then best not to watch.
A good example of this is the DaVinci code. Some of my mum's friends (strict catholics) refuse to read the book. They believe it is lies etc. However when i was catholic i read the book and took it at face value. I felt it was a riveting read and a great storyline. However i also understood there is a reason the book is placed in the 'fiction' section
