salam alikom,

what I mean is, if a person makes thikr/supplication or reads Qur'an, he gets a good deed (hasanah nafsiyyah - a good deed from the soul), however if a person visits the sick/"adopts" an orphan, he also gets a good deeds (hasanah jasadiyyah - a good deed from the body).

Is there a difference between these two types, surely if someone is helping people is gaining more good deeds than a person who supplicates all day, for how is he helping humanity if he supplicates most of his time? I know that balancing both is best, but I am very intrigued if there is anything in the Qur'an/sunnah regarding this?
