is this haram? money?? hajj??

currently i am in my first year at university and i got a maintenance grant, which i dont have to repay, I was just wondering would it be haram to use this moeny to go on hajj with? I know you cant go on hajj with loaned money but this isnt a loan its mine to keep. I would like to go this year but I need to find if its allowed first.

it's a grant so it shouldn't be a problem. there is no interest involved. usually grants from university always give you some kind of money after the grant was used for tuition and other necessities because you were allotted let's say 40,000 dollars but your everything only totaled 35,000$ therefore they'll give you 5,000 that you can use for whatever reason and don't even have to tell what you did with the money.

plus you'll know it doesn't contain ribaa, because there isn't a bill. just go over it with your imam. i'm sure he'll tell you the same thing

Salam, I know it should be ok but theres still a feeling deep down which is saying otherwise, instead of going this year I think i might just get a part-time job and save up and inshallah I will be able to go next year.
