    What a despicable little man.
I am sure that not many on this site know a homosexual. That's not because the people you know are all heterosexual, statistically you will know many gay people. It is just that in Islam homosexuals are afraid to be honest.
I am not surprised that he was banned from Germany. If I hear that he plans to visit my country I will certainly try to stop him.
This type of homophobic nonsense is shocking. Don't you all agree?

Why you offend someone with different view then yours ? Is his right to dislike gay people no ? Why we have to like them ? And if we dont we are abnormal, ... Really no matter how much they protest, parade, advertise, they are stille the perverts. Dont get me wrong, i dont say they are evil or a danger or anything like that but i think most of homosexual are victims of some childhood drama or abuse. So they are in the best victims, lack of parental love or education..but not alse....and Allah will inshallah judge us...i hope that Astaghfirullah, we wont hear tomorow that pedophilia will be aloud in the case the child agrees upon ....good day may Allah help all people with problems. Ameen

first of all the offence u did was surely avoidable and THAT is surely despicable, secondly i'm going to repeat what the sheikh wanted to say: being ''gay'' or better sodomites is unislamic, non-religious and non-moral, the sheikh repeadetly said they the homosexuals have a social rights like ALL HUMAN BEINGS and they are to be guarded against ALL KIND OF SOCIAL INJUSTNESS..ALL OF THEM, calling despicable a man who just says: God says they're wrong, i say the're wrong and i've been BANNED FROM A STATE FOR THIS'' is really unjust(and i'm struggling to use a non-offensive language with you). Despicable are the people who see a perversion as someone gay or if you prefer happy..but truly that is an extremely sad thing..sad is the status, sad is the situation, sad is the beginning and sad is the end waiting in the after-life for the people who doesn't repent.

I don't know if you're muslim or not but surely if you're one of those folks who say yes to ''the prince'' and ''my two dads'' books then you should seriously reconsider the definition of DESPICABLE

    -Peace

p.s: thanks for the support sister :) i appreciate it, all offences are wrong no matter what and what i was trying to highlight was just a common 'issue' and tha's surely what it is a big ISSUE.

    -peace again

So no-one you know dares to admit that they are homosexual. I am lucky enough to live in a country where bigots like Dr. Bilal Philips would not be allowed to spout their homophobic views. And you are living in the dark ages if you think that homosexuality is caused by childhood abuse.
If being a Muslim means having to oppress and criminalise a large percentage of the population because of the sexual orientation they were born with, then to hell with the lot of you...

Offence I did? What are you talking about?
You are the one committing an offence, and if your 'God' says that homosexuality is wrong then your 'God' is depraved and wicked. If of course such a thing as your 'God' exists...

It's very naive to think that homosexuality does not exist. It's not a choice, some people are born that way. It's even mentioned in a hadith that near the end of times, homosexuals will increase in number. Bilala Philips needs to get with the times and help homosexual Muslims instead of condemning them.

Even the Quran doesn't condemn homosexuals. It condemns men laying with other men.

Allah has condemned men to act like women, and women to act like men. Until the 1960s, psychologists considered "homosexuality" to be a mental illness. If someone says that up till the 1960s were the Dark Ages, then only the past 50 years have been correct and the rest of human history was a big mistake?

Townie, please read up on the story of Prophet Lut. And the Quran version, please, not the Bible story. You will get your answer, as you will get all the answers to all the questions you may have.

Remember, that you are also talking about "Your" God as well. Your God says in the Quran:

“Were they created from nothing or did they create themselves. Or did they create the heavens and earth? Indeed, they are uncertain.”

Maybe you should really ponder over this.

I have read the story of Lut or Lot, both in the Qu'ran and in the Talmud/Bible.
You seem to think it is a justification for the hatred and destruction of homosexuals. I think it is an excellent example of a complete lack of morality found in both books.
First of all the inhabitants of Sodom are homosexuals. God both made them and knew everything that they would do in their lives yet when they exhibit a behaviour that God made in them they are condemned by God.
Secondly, how moral is Lot? When the crowd demanded that he release the angels to them, he proposes instead that they carry off and rape his daughters!
God proceeds to kill every one in the town, including all the women who it is never mentioned sinned at all. And it is unclear if the other people in the town who supported Lot's campaign against homosexuality were also destroyed at the same time.
There is no way that any of these acts could be called moral and it shows the folly of believing in folk tales written in the stone age and thinking that they have any relevance to our lives today.
How useful is a book that condemns homosexuality, the consensual relationship between two people of the same sex, yet condones rape, murder, incest and the keeping of slaves?
Luckily there are comparatively few Christians today who base their morals on the 10 commandments or the myths of the Bible. It is about time that Muslims re-examined their own beliefs and morals and stop oppressing people on the basis of the beliefs and morals of the dark age.

Dark ages are known in Europe by Christians. It has nothing to do with Islam.

    Read your books better!

By this logic, all the murderers and criminals "exhibit a behaviour that God made in them", so we have no business condemning them. I see. This is good logic. Please remember if you apply logic to one situation you must apply it to all situations.

I requested you to read the Quran story, not the Bible - because the Bible has been tampered with, and all the world's reknowned Bible scholars admit it. In the Quran, Prophet Lut (peace be upon him) asks the men to marry his daughters as they are better for them.

Not believing in God in itself is a sin in God's eyes. And if God can create humans, he can very well take their life when He wishes, when its clear they are steeped in sin and will not repent any more. God gave them a chance by sending them a Prophet with a clear message and warning - it was the people's fault for not heeding the advice.

Show me where in the Quran rape, murder and incest are condoned. This is a challenge from me to you. Show me. And you display your lack of knowledge when you talk of "keeping of slaves". The slaves were given their rights - they were to live with the family, eating the same food as the family eats, wearing the same food as the family wore, and freeing your slaves was encouraged. They were treated like members of the family. You are basing your knowledge of what you know of slaves from the European civilizations and slaves from early America, who had no rights.

I see you would just want a world with no rules, where everyone does what he or she feels like with no obligations. Where "Eat drink and be merry, for tomorrow is another day" is the norm. Well, its not. For me, Islam and being a muslim is the best thing I could ever ask for - and one day Townie, you too will wish the same, if not now, then definitely after your death.

That's right, and that's why basing your morality on the beliefs of stone age people is flawed. When we base our morality on something more sensible like "Never impose on others what you would not choose for yourself", written by Confucious before 500 BCE, then we are able to live more harmoniously as a society.

And you consider that moral? And what about the other examples of horrendous immorality which certainly exist in the story of Lut in the Qu'ran?
Of course the Bible has been tampered with, after all there is plenty of evidence that at the time of Abraham and Lot all Jews, including Abraham and Lot, were polytheists. But when you copy these stories into your own holy book your myths are just as flawed as theirs.

The story doesn't say that the women sinned. At the time there was no monotheism so what was the message they had ignored?

Giving the girls to marry or to rape depends on the translation of the Qu'ran you read. As the Qu'ran is based on the Talmud and the Bible it is clear that the meaning is 'to rape' not marry. Murder is certainly condoned in the Qu'ran http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/Quran/023-violence.htm

And the thousands of men, women and children kidnapped from villages in Spain, France and England by Muslim pirates? You are very poorly informed. http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/islam/history/slavery_1.shtml "Islam's approach to slavery added the idea that freedom was the natural state of affairs for human beings and in line with this it limited the opportunities to enslave people, commended the freeing of slaves and regulated the way slaves were treated... ...But the essential nature of slavery remained the same under Islam, as elsewhere. It involved serious breaches of human rights and however well they were treated, the slaves still had restricted freedom; and, when the law was not obeyed, their lives could be very unpleasant."

That's just a silly thing to say. I want rules, who wouldn't. But I would prefer the rules to be based on logic and social responsibility, not the morals of the stone age.

What? In one sentence you say its flawed to base your morality on stone age belief. In the second sentence you say it would be better to apply Confucious's morality - which is from the stone age as well, or even more so. Islam was just 1400 years ago. Is that stone age?

    For example?

When human beings don't recognize their Creator, when they rise out of arrogance and think they themselves created each other, then they are sinning. Prophet Lut came with the monotheistic message - which they ignored. Allah has always warned people first, and when they are too arrogant to heed the warning, then they are punished.

Based on? It is clear? These are all your own assumptions.

You need to understand those verses in context. Early muslims were being killed and tortured and seriously oppressed. When they tried to flee to another city, and attacks were instigated against them, they were given permission to fight in self defence. So according to you, it was legit for the muslims to be tortured and murdered and they should not have fought back, and just let the word of God die away?

The morality of Confucius was far more advanced than that of the Abrahamic religions. There really wasn't an 'Abrahamic' prophet who approached a moral position that compared favourably with Confucius. The closest was Jesus, but even he insisted that all the stone age morality of the Talmud had still to be observed.
Killing everyone in the town, even though some who lived there supported Lut's position
Neither Lot or Abraham were monotheists. If you are interested in the subject I recommend you read 'A History of God' by Karen Armstrong. There is plenty of evidence (facts not beliefs) that show that the monotheistic religion of the Jews did not develop until centuries after the time when Abraham and Lot were meant to have existed.
The usual excuse of the apologist - "you're not reading the verses in context". Early Muslims did just as much oppressing, murdering and torturing as was being done to them and your holy book condones it.
