When we look at the life of the Prophet Yusuf [as] we should learn that the motions and changes and life move with the hand of Allah [swt] what Allah wills is and what He does not will well it isn’t and that is that for the believer now for the Kafir well the fate of the Kafir is Kufr and Kufr is to be deprived of the joys of Iman. It is so important for the Muslim to get a grasp and stop chasing Shaitan and co. so that the world becomes aware of the light of Tauhid and the way of the Prophets [as].
Returning back to Nabi Yusuf [as] what we ought to learn from his [as] school is that life for the believer moves progressively to and end befitting the station of the believer. When you loose sight and vision and know not where you are headed know that you are within the plan of the Holy One, Allah {Al Qudus}.
The madness of the brothers of Yusuf [as] they plotted to kill him, they lied to Nabi Yaqub [as] and he just claimed that he would be patient as the judgment of Allah [swt] will prevail and it manifested himself in the end.
Just because you don’t have the girl, the car and the house and you find yourself in humble means does not mean you are forsaken and just because you have the things of this world does not mean you are favored.
The question is where is Iman in Allah [swt] Nabi Yusuf [as] said prison was more beloved to him than to what he was being called to.
Now he choose destruction and obedience rather than disobedience and real destruction. It may be that in destruction of the self there is life as it is known in Islamic law that in the death penalty there is life. The same is said when the individual is dead to shirk and disobedience and sin and the life of kufr there is life although Shaitan may present another reality to remove you from the way of life as he did to our father Adam [as] he presented reality in a perverted way. In the end there will always be war among the children of Adam [as] as some of them follow the Prophets [as] and other well they go astray and it is in this that the test of the world lies.
Just as Nabi Yusuf’s [as] brothers plotted to “murder” in the end they were humbled and it the reign of Iman appeared in the person of Yusuf [as] he willed destruction of self so as to be obedient to Allah in the face of one of the biggest tests of man –beauty and lust.
While oppressed he was patient and the oppressed are favored with Allah [swt] he was patient and had a good opinion of Allah [swt] in the end the world was in his hand for what meant something to Nabi Yusuf [as] was not the way of the world but rather the way of Iman.
When Nabi Yaqub [as] was tested by the disappearance of Yusuf [as] he was tested with being dispossessed he was patient and he failed to believe the liars –his sons but rather trusted not in the words of men but in Allah [swt]
Nabi Ibrahim [as] too was tested with dispossession so he [as] gave everything for Allah [swt] as was left with nothing except Iman and he was a Nation unto Himself [as]. He was tested in his most intimate relations, son, father, wife, tribe and even in his culture and homeland but he left all for Allah the One The Subsistent and stood alone for Tauhid, a Nation unto himself he was [as].
Nabi Yusuf [as] in him we see the movement of life and the rise and fall of people and fame and glory and the stability of the person of Iman.
So when you see no future and all moves dim look back to the Prophet Yusuf and know the believers even when left without land and power and wealth and prestige they hold to Iman even when tested with death and the pleasure of the world they work for Iman even if it means self destruction for Yusuf [as] prison was more beloved than the call of kufr and sin and it was in the destruction of his [as] self that he found that Allah gives and takes and makes men what they are and humbles men, he gives power to who He [swt] wills and He [swt] humbles who He wills and He [swt] never abandons His beloved ones although it may look so.
This lesson of seeing being the surface is most visible in the story of Nabi Musa and Khidr we should be clear that the affairs of the world move with wisdom and sometime it may be that in tragedy benefit lie and in wealth and power destruction of a negative sort lies. What remains the same is that Allah [swt] is the One so say He is the One –meaning there is not other so He creates good and evil and the judgment lies with Him [swt].
Life is ups and downs —-but the reality of life changes not, death and the Day of Judgment humble you to know He is One, Alone in His Majesty and all have to come to Him and are controlled by him and this is what it means to have faith in the Cosmic Will that Allah controls the Universe and all creation He is Rabb Ul Alaameen.
