I hope this reaches you in the best of health/imaan
    Bismillah,

Heard about Trayvon Martin and Shaima al aw??
If you have not....these two are victims of a hate crime in the US. Both from different back grounds, different states, led different lives and killed for one reason: they were different.

Trayvon was a 17 year old black boy who was walking to the store with a hoodie on...and skittles in his hand. He was shot and killed because he looked like "he was up to no good." His killer is not charged nor arrested.

Shaima Al awadi was a 32 year old mother of 5. She was a Muslim woman who was found dead in her dining room with a note right next to her body. The note read: "go back to your country, you terrorist." Her case is still under investigation.

Just when we thought racism and discrimination ended we're reminded the horrible fact of history----that it repeats itself! These two were only killed because they were different from "typical" Americans? What is a typical American anyway???

I am so mad right now, I hate seeing injustice done to ANYONE....!!
Hate is but a decease, it has no color or creed! I know for sure now that the land of the "free" isn't really the land of the free. I mean, if dressing up in a certain way can cost your life......how FREE are YOU?

Justice will prevail....but we have to speak UP....we have to STAND UP, we have to UNITE. We're a minority.....our voice must be LOUD and CLEAR. Hate crimes MUST be PUT to an END.

I am black, I am hijabi, I am an American. RIP Trayvon and Shaima!

PS: Make dua for the families.....the sister lost her life earlier today. If you can support the cause....do so. I know there are some "millionMarch" events organized in various states. Join them and show solidarity by putting your hoodie up---sister you can wear a hoojab (Hijab with a hoodie). If you cannot, simply remember them in your prayers. Everyone deserves justice, pray that they get what they deserve.

Sister,I did hear the news on the internet and it's really saddening.People spend their lives hating, which gives them nothing but bad.People thinking they are better than someone because of the way they look or dress is completely arrogant and such arrogance leads to hellfire. It is an intellect upon fitrah which, when sees something wrong, opposes it and feels bad for it.Corrupted fitrah doesn't see it that way,for it has lost itself.
May Allah give strength to the family of victims.Ameen.

    Dear Sister,
Its unfortunate that it has spread there. Often the ugly head shows up; such crimes happen. What is really important for us is to be just. Being just wins friends and they come handy for testing times. May Allah help all of us, in such testing times... Ameen

And here is something to reflect and act calmly:

"So to that [religion of Allah ] invite, [O Muhammad], and remain on a right course as you are commanded and do not follow their inclinations but say, "I have believed in what Allah has revealed of the Qur'an, and I have been commanded to do justice among you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord. For us are our deeds, and for you your deeds. There is no [need for] argument between us and you. Allah will bring us together, and to Him is the [final] destination." [Quran 42:15]

“The good deed and the evil deed are not alike. Repel the evil deed with one which is better, then lo! he, between whom and thee there was enmity (will become) as though he was a bosom friend.” [Qur'an 41:34]

“ O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allah and be just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Well-Acquainted with what you do.” [Qur'an 5:8 ]

    Peace.

    Assalaamu alaykum,

    Jazaka'Allah khair brothers----

Brother Strive-May-I, the Ayats you've shared are amazing. Islam is just...alhamdulillah.
I just hope that these two victims get the justice they deserve. In a land where the color of your skin and the religion you follow determine the kind of justice you get.....we have to fight harder. This is a case close to home, I could be either of them. I am both black and Hijabi....it gets tough at these times, but we have to stay strong. It just makes me want to stand out more....we're the melting pot, we should behave like that and appreciate our differences!

"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere!!" We have to remember that,

With Allah's mercy....these two will get their justice, if not here-----definately in the hereafter!

    Assalaamu alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatuh everyone,

I just wanted to let you know my experience at the MillionHoodiesMarch at my university. To say the least....I cannot find words to describe the huge turn out and how people of many faiths and colors came to seek justice. We had a couple of people (non-Muslims) who brought their scarf with them as well in remembrance of Sister Shaima. It was a HUGE crowd, at least a thousand if not more. The speakers were inspiring......the whole even was empowering!! I looked around to take a closer look at the crowd and subhana'Allah almost everyone had their hoodies on and it seemed like all kinds of people came out....not just black people. It sorta reminded me back in the days when Martin Luther King was alive and someone said "if He was here today, he woulda be proud of us." I will find news videos on the event insha'Allah and post them here.

    Assalamu-Alaikum
hate is wide spread, and people who think they are superior to others in terms of anything, skin colour, religion, social status, etc; are disgusting. May Allah(swt) give the families of the deceased sabr, and guide the hearts of humanity to goodness.

    Asalamo`Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Baraakaatuh,

I know what you mean ukht. Only last night I watched a debate and the way everyone showed their utmost hate and disrespect and intolerance to the Muslims was sickening.

I was reminded of the Mushriks of Makkah. May Allaah grant us and them hidayah to stand up for the truth.

What was the debate about?? Yea....just to make it clear though, not all people HATE Islam and Muslims! It is just a bunch of narrow minded, media spoon fed, angry mob who do not know anything else BUT their way of life and would do anything to shove their opinions down your throat! ugh. :SMILY286:
