Are the Nation of Islam Muslims ? What about Malcolm X ?
My opinion of Malcolm X and the Nation of Islam.

Nation of Islam is a cult and not really of Islam at all. They follow a man who claimed to be Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) reincarnated and this man eventually claimed to be God.
Malcolm X originally was of NOI but after he went to hajj he came back and started speaking against the corruption he saw in NOI and revealing that NOI was not of Islam. That is why he was assassinated, his wife and daughters were very vocal about that fact.

There are many threads on the Nation and on Brother Malcolm on TTI. His journey helps us understand the history of the treatment of Blacks in America.
In context the NOI was instrumental for helping the civil rights movement. We can not compare the NOI to Islam.
