Assalamualaikum
it's been a while since I last posted..but my situation needs a lot of explaining, and you can look at my previous posts.
So my parents are here for the holidays..we havent talked abt religion in a long while and they dont know I'm muslim yet. I think the last time my mom was here she took out a book about Islam that a friend gave me from my drawer. I didnt know until she asked whether I was still reading and learning Islam and later I found out the book was gone. Strangely enough, there was this other book on the same drawer but its untouched.
I wasnt really interested in those books so I didnt really care..but last night I just realized that the other book was still in the drawer, so just in case..I know this isnt good enough of a concealment...I moved it into an empty bag in the closet. Later I went to see a movie last night...and once I got home, voila, the book WAS GONE. It's not in the bag anymore. I was VERY upset..
My dad doesnt really know about the situation (more on it on my previous posts), so if we were gonna talk abt this, its gonna be one on one with my mom. I was really thinking of coming up to her and ask "Have you been searching my room"...but I just dont know..seems like she has the right to it.
Now I don't really want to get into a heated exchange about this matter...but really this thing is really annoying. Just coming to my room then taking off my stuff without asking.. I know a one on one talk is surely coming up soon (we're gonna go out of town for new years).
People who understand the situation (Imam, scholar, etc) that I consulted thinks that maybe hiding my Islam is the best way. But obviously it cant stay that way forever.. Maybe I was panicking, upset, angry, etc because I was treated as if I'm keeping illegal items in my room. So right now I'm gonna try to stay calm and PRAY A LOT..please pray for me too.
I've been trying my best to improve myself..I keep up with my studies, trying to graduate as soon as I can; I dont waste the resources and money my parents give..I just try to be a good kid. But somehow they just cant take me being interested let alone converting to Islam.
