Self control is key.
Diets are not difficult, it's people that make them difficult.
Just eat 3 balanced meals and if you feel the snakcing coming on, grab for a carrot rather than a chocolate bar. instead of driving or taking the bus to the store, walk. It's the little changes that will make a big differance, but remember you can't go back to the bad habbits once you've lost the weight, otherwise the pounds will return, inshAllah wish you the best

can a brother answer this question...:SMILY139:

adding to the above comment... give it time, have a healthy life style and give yourself TIME to loose what you want to loose.

i wouldn't suggest to suddenly change your eating habit but take a step by step. eat when you feel hungry and don't eat until you get full as what the prophet used to do.

have a set of time to excercise... say first week, 30 minutes a day for 6 days light walk and increase the time and strength of the excersice (jogging or playing other sports). when one excersice, his/her eating habit changes to a better one. excersice for fun so you may like it and makes you feel nice. "when one feels nice, he/she looks nice"

in general, to loose weight one needs to "put more force out than in"
food and movements are types of force, so one need to excersice more and eat less (than usual)...BUT needs to be done properly... don't starve yourself to death and don't eat until you can't breath... :)

i personaly don't believe in those "diet magic pills" ... NOTHING is for free, so one would need to work hard... "no pain, no gain"

we don't own our bodies, so we would need to take care of Allah's property...

sister take it step by step and simply do your best

Epppp if you are only eating breakfast and fruits and you have some extra weight go to the doctor......or if you have a bad body image that's not good either, being thin does not equal healthy, sister take care of your body, and eat 3 balanced meals.:wasalam:

All the obove is good advise, :ma: You know we also hear this eat less and move a lot sound simple haah,, naah. This need great work you need to set some goals and inshaAllah fullfill it.

I had to lose some weight too. after beeing a mom you the body has to great change we have to help to maintain its health weight.

Just eat when you are hungry and stop before you feel ful, (just eat to take the hunger down). eat less suger or not at all. You know as they say eat, drink and be Muslim. The prophet (sallahu alayhi wasalim) said, "The son of Adam fills no container with anything worse and more evil than his stomach (with food), Sufficient fo him are few morsels of food to keep him on his feet. Beyond this, let him divide his stomach into three parts: one third for his food, another for his drink, and a third for air, (leave it empty).

Eat like the Prophet (sallalahu alayhi wasalim), to eat with the tips of three fingers (index, middle, and thumb) to minimize untidiness and eat slower and in small mosels.

You need some support from a family member or a friend who can exercise with you. I would recommend walking I like it and it is easy. and If some reason you don't get that like me. remember that you are doing this for yourself first. Be good to yourself for the sake of Allah. Eat health and stay fit.

May Allah keep us all health in this life and next, Ameen.

I hope this helps InshaAllah.

Salaam,

We need to undertand that bone mass has something to do with our weight. I hope Sister Sara responds to this. Please do not spend time thinking about your body image. Be active. Be alert. Walk. Drink water. Walk.
After becoming a mother it takes years to rid yourself of that stuff. But you have to have an understanding of how your body works.
My metabolism is very high. However, I have to snack constantly because of my blood sugar. If I do not snack I became weak and light-headed. I do make the mistake of eating a candy bar when I should get something more nurtritional. This is not good.
You have to eat in order to have something to burn to lose weight. Also why do you want to lose weight? IF you answer that it will be easier for you to lose weight. Hope this helps.

Salaam,
its important you have breakfast, as it gets your metabolism going,"When you don't eat breakfast, you're actually fasting for 15 to 20 hours, so you're not producing the enzymes needed to metabolize fat to lose weight."

also insted of 3 meals a day ive heard that its better if you break it down to 6 small meals that way you dont find yourself looking for something to eat. also portion size, reduce it, have you noticed portion sizes seem to be getting bigger n bigger...also try to get more active, if your eating say over 3000 calories a day and only burning 1000, some of the rest will end up on your hips..increase the steps you take, get a pedometer... and apprently with exercise you only start burning anything after 20mins into your workout.exercise will help prevent sagging skin after weight loss. While you might find it difficult right now, as the weight starts to come off, you’ll gradually feel more energetic and find it easier to exercise. try fat-burning aerobic activity to help shift the pounds with toning exercises to help the muscles shape up.

hope that helped :)

Salaam,

Last year I joined Weight Watchers because I had slowly been gaining weight over the course of a few years, and I did not know how to lose it again. It was a very helpful program, and I have been able to lose 25 lbs over the course of a year and keep it off easily. I found it beneficial to have the support structure and guidance that WW provides. I don't know where you are located, but I would definitely recommend the WW program if you are not able to lose weight on your own.

This advice that was posted is very good:

Just eat when you are hungry and stop before you feel ful, (just eat to take the hunger down). eat less suger or not at all. You know as they say eat, drink and be Muslim. The prophet (sallahu alayhi wasalim) said, "The son of Adam fills no container with anything worse and more evil than his stomach (with food), Sufficient fo him are few morsels of food to keep him on his feet. Beyond this, let him divide his stomach into three parts: one third for his food, another for his drink, and a third for air, (leave it empty).

That is one of the reasons I liked Weight Watchers, I found following their program to be in line with the Sunnah. With their help I learned to reduce my portion sizes, stop overeating, and vary my diet by adding many more fruits & vegetables. They also encourage, instead of eating 3 full meals a day, to instead try "grazing" throughout the day - meaning to eat smaller items/portions up to 6 times a day. And they stress that it is important to sufficiently fuel your body for your activities and not undereat and feel hungry all the time! It was a relief to follow a diet plan like that. After putting these habits into practice for a year it is now second nature for me - I try my best to eat healthy foods, and do not eat unless I am truly hungry, and I stop when I am satisfied.

It is also a good idea to increase your activity. But what you have to watch is that increasing your activity will also increase your hunger and need for more food. So you still have to be careful to balance the activity with the amount of food you are eating or else you won't necessarily lose weight with more exercise.

God bless and good luck to you!

with all my respect brothers and sisters , I didnt read the replies and I have an advice , it`s not ok if you took a diet from another person cause every person have a different body than other , you have to ask a specialised person about diet and also make some test (blood and other tests) then he/she may give you an advice
