ok lets see informative speech....Make it interestng and use an attention grabber. for example: "Ramadan is not only about fasting as many of you might think so. But it's also about caring and tending to the needy. Ramadan is a month in which we reform and revive our iman(faith). Thus we try our best to be the best we can be.

ramadan

During this month, the Koran, the word of Allah was revealed to Prophet Muhammad. The koran is a guidance for mankind as we Muslims believe and were taught. The Koran is an outline of how we should live our lives, how we should treat others, and how we should live healthy and happy lives. This month which the Koran was revealed, is a blessed month and as Muslims we try and take advantage of it by praying, fasting, giving charity and at the end of the month celebrating in unision.

oh i would also like to advice you that you should not look at your paper the whole time. just take few looks and try to practice at home. i've done speeches before and i'm used to it now. and secondly try to not be nervous and if you are make sure that you don't figet with your paper and so on. just act like you know all of them. if it's a stage move around a little. not large steps. and don't look only at one direction but look at one side then the other. not too often but a few times. like they say, go with the flow. try to make your words and your actions meet. some hand gestures would be good too. like if you were saying "why do muslims fast"? then hold your hands out like your making dua. hope that helps. inshaAllah. and brother do not give up on the muslims who do not practice. they're your brohters and sisters and are in need of da'wah as well.

Lessons of Ramadan: Taqwa:

Allah legislated fasting for gaining taqwaa, "O you who believe, fasting has been prescribed upon you as it has been prescribed upon those before you, so that you may attain taqwaa."
taqwaa means :

Taqwa is an Arabic word which is explained as a shield against wrongdoing and further expounded as to be “conscious of Allah” or to have “fear of Allah” or to be “cautiously aware of Allah”.

The origin of the word Taqwa is from the Arabic root letters wa’ ka’ ya (meaning shield) and its verb is from the word “Ittaki”. Ittaki means to be careful or to be protected or to be cautious. Taqwa is an internal compass on the path that leads towards Allah. The broader meaning and character of Taqwa is to develop one’s behaviour, so as to be cautiously aware in the worship of Allah and attain nearness to Him and in so doing, perfect oneself.

Lessons of Ramadan: patience and strong will

Lesson : Acquiring patience and strong will

Fasting teaches patience and strong will. Also, it teaches the person to take control over his desires and needs so that he guides them not the vise versa. So when one fasts, and gives up one's food and drink, and one's marital sexual relations for those hours, one learns restraint and patience.

Lessons of Ramadan: Striving for Ihsaan (righteousness and sincerity)

And staying away from riyaa' ( showing off ) "Ehsaan" means to worship Allah as if one sees Him, and even though one dose not see him, he sees all. Allah singles out fasting from other types of worship saying, "Fasting is for me", because no one knows whether you are fasting or not, except Allah (The one creator of all).

Lessons of Ramadan: Refinement of manners

Refinement of manners, especially those related to truthfulness and discharging trusts. The Prophet said, "Whoever dose not abandon falsehood in word and action, then Allah has no need that he should leave his food and drink."What we learn from this is that we must pay attention to the purification of our manners.

Lessons of Ramadan: Compassion

Compassion toward the less privileged and being more charitable when the fasting person feels the pangs of hunger, he experiences how the poor feel, so he has compassion towards them and gives them something to wards off their hunger.

salam....

First of all i would like to thank Sister Palestine, stranger and others members for providing me awesome ideas.

Sister Palestine, i did that speech last thursday. It was awesome. GOOD...GOOD....REALLY GOOD....... I took the Holy Quran AND DATES as visual aides. When i went to the stage all the stuff was coming naturally. I read the speech 3-4 times before the delivery it.

I saw a positive attitude of my audience. When others were delivering the speech i saw them sleeping and talking to others but alhamdulillah when i was delivering the speech i was able to grab their attention.

I passed around the dates. Some of them already knew wht they were, while the rest were clueless. They were asking whts that???

However i will be getting its grades on coming tuesday. lets see wht professor gives me although i think this speech was marvellous. If the grades are good then i will upload them here..

So once again i would like to thank you, stranger and others for helping me out.........

help.....

salam alikoum,
the first thing to start with is to emphasis the point that allah swt has decreed the fasting on all the nations before us, he says, oh who you believe the fasting has been decreed on you just as it was decreed on those before you.....until the rest of the verse.
try also to speak about the benefits of fasting from health and moral aspects
wa salam alikoum
