New York School to teach Arabic...

A school in New York is adding Arabic to the curriculum, but apparently(as usual) some people are against it as will produce the teaching of "Radical Islam":astag: .

I wish I would have had Arabic as an option in high school. I only had French, Spanish and Latin :/

Alhamdullilah there are Arabic courses at my university and I just completed them Best class I have had and of course this class probably influenced my decision to become a Muslimah

Unfortunately though our program is underfunded and there are 4 levels...not enough for a minor or major. InshaAllah one day the university will see how important the Arabic language is.

Asalaamalikum,

May Allah swt make it happen. I always wondered why there was no Arabic courses in High School. Arabic is one of the richest and most eloquent languages in the world. I think fear of Arab culture, customs and of course Islam are in the minds of Americans. In my humble opinion, I think they want to keep us far away from our history, culture and turn us illiterate on the language of the Quran here in the U.S.
