Hello everyone! ^^ my name is Sophie, i live in Canada and i am 14 years old. I am actually an atheist-agnostic (depend on the day,to be honest) but i love to learn about other religions and culture, it's so interesting! I actually hope to use my knowledge, well i don't know a lot now so >_>'', of Islam and other religions for a pretty huge webcomic project of mine, if i manage to have enough talent to be able to draw ha ha ^^''. I hope that i'll get along with everyone here, thanks for taking the time to read my little introduction! ^^
PS : Is it permitted to post pictures? like, i have a muslimah character and i always worry if her outfits are okay, so can i or is it forbbiden?

Hello, Good to have you here. :)
We are happy to help you in seeking knowledge about Islam in anyway we can & we pray to Allah (swt) to guide you to truth.
About cartoons I am not exactly sure. So maybe someone else might answer that.

Thanks a lot for the warm welcome everyone, i'm very happy that you are all so nice with me -^^- and also, for the cartoons, if you are not okay with this (i heard about how it's apparently haram to draw people or their eyes, for some reasons) i would understand and ask other muslim people on my art site or just go with my instinct, it's alright either way

scalvus : I think that the world began with the Bing Bang and in most of the answers science gave, like most non-religious people :) why do you ask? ^^

You are most welcome dear, Islam unites all people by love of their creator. It builds pure loving hearts towards the creator and all his creation. Who do you think planned the bing bang theory ? If you study this theory you find out a perfect plan.......don't you think that this plan need some one to plan.

I am also kinda hobbyist artist (well not much but sometimes 3d abstract art).

Because we think Atheism is quite Irrational :p (Sorry no offence intended). You see big bang theory just answers how world began it doesn't answer "why did it happen?". Try to ponder a bit more on stuff like what was there before big bang? what caused that and what caused the cause and what caused the cause of cause of cause.... I mean like say you were sitting on your table and by chance you just slept off. When you woke up you saw a pack of juice on your table. So what will be most logical: To say "Someone must have put it here" or to Assume "A bunch of particles created themselves then they fused together to make more complex particles and while I was asleep it they arranged themselves into a pack of juice"? :D
When this seems so illogical for a pack of juice, ow can it be logical for human body is faaaar more complex than a juice pack. :) See heres our body cell:

Anyways I am sorry I don't mean any offence or to hurt you.

Of course no, don't worry ^^ at least you didn't call me mean names and saying i'll go to hell because of my beliefs or try to kick me out of the forum (i experienced that on anothre religion forum 2 years ago >>'') so i am not offended at all :)

And to be totally honest, i find the idea of a god quite irrational, too ^^'' no offense intended on my part, i just have a lot of problems wrapping my mind around that :/ as for the Big Bang, it's a theory, like everything about science, it can be updated at any time by other research but i don't really know a lot about it, i prefer to study psychology and other things like that, so i wouldn't be able to respond to theses questions ^^'' i'm just not too interested in science other than biology so...but while we are at it, if everything HAVE to have a creator, than who created god? he created himself? how is it logically posible? it just always seemed strange in my head, kind of like a fantasy or sci-fi novel, or maybe i misunderstood something?

Hi, welcome to the website.I hope you will benefit from it insha'Allah ^^(I like this smiley).

As far as your question is concerned please read the following article :
Who created God?

The most rational explanation of creation is creator the Qur'an poses a question in the interpretation of meaning of Surah At Tur:
Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]?
Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain.[52:35-36]

The point made here is :
1)It's illogical that we just appeared out of nothing.
2)Something cannot create itself,it will amount to a paradox of it existing and not existing at the same time.
3)Neither did we create the universe.
4)We can only guess, rather we are not certain.

Like you said there is no certainty for Big Bang it might change,I do agree with you.Similarly human intellect can reach a level and cannot surpass it.
As Max Planck has said,
"Science cannot solve the ultimate mystery of nature. And that is because, in the last analysis, we ourselves are part of nature and therefore part of the mystery that we are trying to solve."

The Qur'an on the other hand is a part of revelation and not a part of human intellect.
The Qur'an asks us to ponder upon the things around us and within us and reach a conclusion based on the intellect pondering upon it's inherent nature(fitrah) which is an inherent acceptance of Lordship of the creator.

A senior researcher at Oxford's centre for anthropology and minds,Dr Justin Barett, has found that every child is born with a belief in a God ,this applies even to those who have not been taught at school or home about a God and even to those who if they were to be born in a desert would be born with this very feeling.Irrespective of where the child is born,he is born with this inherent feeling.

Any ways feel free to ask any questions insha'Allah ^^

We've been told in the Quran that every man or woman know deep inside that there is a God. And we take that seriously to the point that we do not argue with those who say the contrary. And even the guy who invented modern Atheism acknowledged that not only he believed in God but he also believed in Satan, heaven and Hell!

So a god has snatched from me my all
In the curse and rack of destiny.
All his worlds are gone beyond recall!
Nothing but revenge is left to me!
...
Yet I have power within my youthful arms
To clench and crush you with tempestuous force,
While for us both the abyss yawns in darkness.
You will sink down and I shall follow laughing,
Whispering in your ears, “Descend, come with me, friend.

That was written by Karl Marx in his young days. "You" refers to mankind, which is intentionally led to the Hellfire and Marx knows he'll follow! Isn't that amazing!

Of course, all communists, atheists know inside that there is a God but they lie. So I recommend that you stop joking yourself and begin to read about Islam.

Kashif-Nazeer : I didn't really wanted to debate on god existence or not, because it's kind of a pointless debate, and beside biology and psychology i don't know a lot about science or theology (even tough i currently study about 7 religions at the time, but this is irrelevant) and each of us is believeing firmly in our respective belief, and theses rarely changes. I am also a bit uncomfortable talking about my lack of faith, too much bad experiences in the past, so i would prefer if we could just change subject, please. I came her to talk about islam and not my belief, didn't i? :)

all4islam : Thanks ^^

sclavus : I have to disagree with that one, because to be honest i honestly tried to believe in god (When i was about 8-9) because i was afraid of how my family and friends would react, but i never had that...spark? emotion? feeling? i don't know. Faith and me doesn't seem to work well, ha ha ^^'' also, modern atheist does not exist. There is no organization in atheism, since it's just the belief that god doesn't exist. Atheists sometimes groupos together, but everyone feel good when they are with people like them, aren't they? also, i don't ''joke myself'' in fact, it's been one year now that i read about islam. I didn't have the patience to go through the Qu'ran (It's huge!) but i looked at countless drawings about it and i also got into a mosquee one day to collect even more informations about it, even if it made me insanely nervous just for the sake of knowledge, so i guess you could say that i study about it a bit. Strangely, or not, i never felt anything when reading or looking at this stuff, in fact sometime it oddly make me feel that i don't believe in god even more. But please, don't be offended by this, i don't want the same story that happened in my last religion forum to happen >>'' just wanted to state my opinion ^^

Alright, thats perfectly fine. you are welcomed here anyways. Enjoy your stay. :)

and beside biology and psychology i don't know a lot about science or theology (even tough i currently study about 7 religions at the time, but this is irrelevant) and each of us is believeing firmly in our respective belief, and theses rarely changes.
hmm.. I see. Just a small tip I can give you is if you are trying to see if existence of God studying different religions i.e trying to get an overall picture, it is unlikely you might reach anywhere (and Allah guides whom he wills). That's because each religion has different concept of god in his nature and attributes. So a christian saying God is one but 3 at the same time or someone telling you about theory of Karma (i.e if you don't don't do good deeds in this life you will be a cockroach in next one :p (lol)) will only make you doubt God if you are trying to make an overall picture combining all this. So create a new folder in your mind and keep them all separately. And we invite you to study our concept of God anyways and we pray to Allah (swt) to guide you to truth. ^.^

i don't want the same story that happened in my last religion forum to happen >>'' just wanted to state my opinion ^^
Don't worry we aren't trying to kick you out. :)

not extending it any further but just to end what I started, actually my point of asking you:
what was there before big bang? what caused that and what caused the cause and what caused the cause of cause of cause....
was 2 folded since this question itself answers another question i.e. When what caused the caused of the caused of the caused of the caused of.. Big Bang does not prove Universe does not Exist, How can created the creator of creator of creator of creator of creator...Of God disprove his existence? :) :D (~taken from a talk of brother hamza andreas tzortis)
