A Newyorker has drawn a caricature of Obama and his wife. The Americans feel that its a shameful act.

This very statement contradicts what they have been telling us. We told them how we felt about the cartoons made about our Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) and they told us its 'freedom of expression'. Why cant they say the same thing here?!

There is some problem, I cant seem to upload the picture. It shows Obama in dressed as a Muslim and his wife as a terrorist. So if anyone finds it, please post it.

Yeah, the people who are outraged about it but not about the Danish cartoons are hypocrites.

If anyone saw the Daily Show segment on it, that (in my opinion) was the best sort of way to deal with it and the whole Muslim Obama myth lol

    Here's the picture.

I saw it on the news. :( The media always go overboard. Americans know Obama is not muslim he said that a million times. I feel this is just a ploy to get his supporters not to vote for him. As soon as you say terrorist Americans get scared. We all know as soon as the media say muslim they associate terrorist with that. So if the media can protrays Obama as a muslim then Americans will associate that with terrorism and their objective is to get the supporters not to vote for him. I am so tried on this Obama mess. Not all Americans but alot.

The New Yorker is a liberal magazine
the illustrations of Barack and Michelle Obama are satire.
some of the liberals were upset with it.:)

Barack Obama has repented of his youthful bad deeds and is now a force for righteousness. He believes in God, in resisting the temptations of the adversary and in doing good.

So how is he not a friend of Muslims? Please explain.

    Dear Brother,
Somoene who knows the message and openly rejects it cannot be a friend of a muslim. We should not take Kafirs as friends or support them in any way. Yes Obama believes in God but he believes in the trinity :astag:
Here is an article on his upbringing, dear brother don't be fooled by politicians and their silver tongues. They are all the same, He even stated that he supports the false state of israel :astag:

I see. He cannot be my friend. But if he strives for righteousness as judged by the scriptures that he holds, he is certainly not my enemy.

    Salaam respected brother MRasheed,

Careful when you say they are striving for "righteousness." Hitler was also striving for "righteousness" because he had racial subjugations towards Jews because he felt they were an "undesirable" population. From his persepective he feels "righteous" but outside the box he is seen inhuman, especially in the eyes of many Jews. So do you consider Hitler your friend? Bush also believes he is striving for "righteousness," but is he really??

Politics in the U.S. is about greed and power. You're trusting something fragile. I advice you to watch End Game by Alex Jones. It's facinating.

Ah! But I do not mean 'righteous' in the sense of someone's own personal definition of the term, but righteousness in the way Allah details it in the scriptures... one who believes in his Lord, rejects temptation and does charity. On the Day of Judgment such a one, be he Christian or Jew will learn how it was he strayed, but he will have no need to fear, nor shall he grieve.

    Salaam,

My dear brothers...I believe the respected Brother HumbleWun has not used the word dulplicity. We need to be aware that is the way of politicians..they mean us little good. Brother MRasheed if you have time on your hands please read the posts by several members including me on politics and Muslims in the US.
We live in the here and the now. We need to be cognizant of the forces around us. We need to know who they are and how they operate. The media mixes the good with the bad..it leads to confusion. It is part of the illusion to keep us from reality.
The promise of the Day of Judgement is what keeps us going. But we do not need to be duped.

I understand your point and I am not a fan of politics for that very reason, but understand that each person out of every group is not the same. It is often the case where a few bad people can give the group a bad name, and politics is certainly like that, but is that blanket generalizing of an entire group right? As an African-American, I am often the victim of exactly such generalizing where people will expect me to act like the poorly characterized black people they see on television. This is wrong. Get to know me and only then come to your conclusion. Don't base how you will treat me on what someone I don't even know did.

Politicians are the same. They are individuals who have a job to do. I will judge the individual on his tract recond, how he votes and the reasons for why he voted that way. How would you feel if I told everyone that you would act a certain way based on the reputation of a group that you worked with but did not believe in some individual member's practices? Understand that as the very first truly possible African-American U.S. President, I have an interest in the career of Barack Obama that I have never had for any other politician. Obama made me want to learn about US politics and I study both it and Obama's life and history. Based on what I have learned about him in my study... I trust him. As president I believe he will not make the same types of decisions his predecessors made and he will rule on the side of Right and Justice both for his nation and in relationships with other heads of state. Of course it is possible that he may prove me wrong, but based on what I have learned thus far, I don't think he will.

Yes, I am already quite aware of those things, thank you.

This is exactly why it is important to do your own research on an individual and not sweep him into a big pile of "Oh, you know how those people are" type of stereotypes. That is evil to judge the one based on a group. Even Malcolm X didn't do that. He was very aware of the wrongs that are done to his people, but he still treated each individual caucasian he encountered with respect, and gave them the opportunity to do the right thing on a direct, one-on-one personal basis.

Barack Obama is not my enemy.

    Salaam,

Brother the sadness is many African Americans are duped by Obama because of the color of his skin. And your responses admits that. You will only be interested in politics because of the color of the skin of a man. However, he does not represent your interests if you are a Muslim. The color of a persons skin is not important in Islam.
I would suggest that you really study a little deeper into politics. How can you as a Muslim trust a man that is the token of those who wish us no good. I am correct in assuming you think there is no connection in what is going on in Israel.
The duties of a president are dicatated by others than the so called government. Please research and study.
Your comments are passionate. As you have admitted you are learning about politics. Please take time and study.
Do not judge a man on the color of his skin. There is a reason that the expression Uncle Tom is in the vanacular. As a Muslim is it not upon us to trust a Muslim first regardless of his skin color.

You write of generalizing/stereotyping...please what about being a Muslim woman in America. We go out in hijab...walk in my shoes for one minute. Do not use a simplistic and trite argument. The world is more than black and white. We are Muslim first and foremost.

Finally, I suggested you read the previous posts on this forum. You wrote you were aware...no, please read..watch the videos we have suggested...find out about the federal reserve, discover why the consitution is just another sheet of paper..walk as a Muslim in the US and I know you will change your tune..there is no such thing as Black Muslim, White Muslim, Brown Muslim, Yellow Muslim or Red Muslim...we are Muslim.

I do not wish to be harsh. I have little time to waste. We have made the choice to be Muslim...let us remember that.
Obama has made the choice to respect that which is not Muslim
