Oh the Misconceptions

Muslima
Well here is a little about me. Im 18 years old and a Muslim who grew up in the United States. I was born in New York and after September 11th my life changed along with every other Muslim out there. We all know the misconceptions, we've all dealt with the stereotypes, and lets face it- we are strong, confident Muslims regardless of what the world may say about us. As strong as we may be, we're human after all and sometimes we just plain get hurt. Sometimes we think a lot and really just want to say what we're thinking. There are issues out there that websites aren't able to deal with effectively. Women's rights, societal stress, frustration, and doubts- all these come with too much bias to be discussed. Lets face it- Islam is perfect, but people aren't. A misinterpretation of religion occurs in many Muslim homes too. As a female Muslim, I am the first to understand that. Society prevails at times after all. Well, after trying to find a place "just to talk", my search came up empty. So here is what I did- I created a blog, something I've never done before. So here on this blog, I really just want to give people an opportunity to talk about stuff- it's as simple as that. So whether you are a recent convert or someone who has been Muslim since birth, someone who is discovering Islam or someone who is in the middle of a religious crisis- just come talk about it. Trust me- we've all been there. So I just created this blog recently and it may take some time to get additional entries posted, but bear with me. Don't forget to visit and please PLEASE leave a comment or two about what you think. Lets just finally say what we're thinking without having other people around us worrying so much about it! Hopefully we can all strengthen our faith together and have an opportunity to learn together. :SMILY346:
