Dubai Ruler orders release of 620 prisoners.
The pardon was given to the prisoners who had proved good character and conduct while serving their terms .
Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the release of 620 prisoners from punitive and reformative institutions in the emirate on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Mr Essam Eisa Al Humaidan, Dubai Attorney General, thanked Mr Shaikh Mohammad for his humanitarian initiative which would have a positive impact on the families of the pardoned prisoners.
The pardon was given to the prisoners who had proved good character and conduct while serving their terms.
He congratulated the prisoners and urged them to seize this opportunity to start a new life.
Al Humaidan said the Public Prosecution in cooperation with Dubai Police and Dubai Reformative and Punitive Establishments would make all the necessary procedures to implement Shaikh Mohammad’s order before the first day of Ramadan.
