THE PATIENCE OF NOBLE AND IGNOBLE PEOPLE

Everybody has to be patient when facing difficulties, either voluntarily or by compulsion. The patience of noble people is voluntary because they believe in its benefits and they know they will be rewarded for it. They also know that if they panic, this will not regain what they have missed nor will prevent what they dislike. No one can prevent what is destined to happen. A wise man once said," When anything bad happens to a wise man, he does what a foolish man does after a month."

The patience of ignoble people is compulsory. Firstly, they panic, but when they realize this is useless, they become patient as the patience of someone tied up to be beaten.

The noble people practise patience for their Lord. The ignoble people practise it for the sake of Satan and for fulfilling their petty desires.

Those people will never be noble in the sight of Allah, nor will they be raised to the rank of noble people on the Day of Judgment. This is only for people who deserve nobility and fear Allah on that Day.
