Assalamu alaikum,

I would like to know wether the name DIYANAH MAHADIYAT is gramatically correct and meaningful. From the net, I have found DIYANA means RELIGION and MAHDIYA means "rightly guided by Allah". I don't know the difference between MAHADIYAT and MAHDIYA.

Would any brother/sister let me know the if MAHADIYAT is gramatically correct and it is ok to have the name.

Sorry to tell you, I know only how to read Quran, I don't undrestand arabic.

Thanking you all.

salam alykum wa rahmatu Allah taala wa barakatuhu sister
mahdyah , mahdiat , mahdiya mahdiah. it's the same transliterarien from arabic to english letters. and mean the same thing = the guided one ( woman).
mahdi = the guided one ( man)

dyanah or diyant = religion.

mahadyat is a wrong orthograph sister at least that mean not the guided woman.

wa salam wa rahmatu Allah taala wa barakatuhu.

Salam alykum,

Thank you brother once again for your prompt reply.

So, you mean to say MAHDIAT is correct; but MAHADIAT is not coreect?

I really appreciate your replies.

Best regards

Dear sister Parisa,
:salam2:

I can guess you are from a persian speaking country. Since Urdu has some common roots with persian, I can try to translate your name.

Diyana or in persian diyanat is a word, which is commonly used for honesty. By its root it is the same as deen daari (meaning religious firmness) but in its practical usage it means honesty.

As another brother correctly pointed out Mahdi means "rightly guided". By using persian convention of feminization Mahdiah means a rightly guided female. However Mahdiat would mean rightly guidedNESS. Please note, that all that is persian convention. In arabic Mahdiah or Mahdiat would mean the same.

I hope it helps.

:wasalam:
