I don't know if this has been posted already, but I went to one of their events before and it was excellent...

New Civilisation magazine has organised a panel of distinguished speakers to debate the regional and global implications of the ongoing Israel-Lebanon crisis.

According to US Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, in Lebanon we are witnessing the 'birth pangs of a new Middle East'. While the current war is devastating, the status quo ante has achieved little stability and peace in the region.

The region needs a sustainable solution that will achieve long term stability and security for all its inhabitants.

The panel will explore the recent developments and, most importantly, how lasting peace may be achieved.

Panelists:
Dr. Alan Mendoza: Executive Director of the Henry Jackson Society
Alan Hart: Former ITN and BBC Panorama reporter
Dr Mamoun Fandy: Senior Fellow for Middle East Security, International Institute for Strategic Studies Omer Khan: New Civilisation Magazine

Chairman, Brian Whitaker: The Guardian's Middle East Editor
