    AssalamOalakum

This is first thing which should come to our mind when we hear something is Sunnah of our prophet the source of the information, simple and layman answer is people who have studied hadith books and gained qualifications in islamic knowledge; these people can tell us the sources ie the refrences in books. Although internet is a great of of searching information this is nothing when compare it to going to our local masjid and meeting face to face and getting all of our answers from a qualified person or sitting and looking into the hadith books earlier muslims who have gathers these hadith and compiled them in books have done a great job they have traveled far distances. We can only gain knowledge by studing our self or asking a person who has done through study under stood the right translation and meanings and what Prophet told a person in a situation for a reason also has to be looked at that is why simply reading a hadith and understanding it somtimes need further studies having wrong interpretation and meaning is the thing which also causing confusion etc.
