question about exaggerating

is it considered as a lie? cuz one of my friends exaggerates in about almost everything. i tell him all the time to stop it and he doesn't.

Like: Instead of: " I shot two goals last game"
One who exaggerates makes it: " Oh I shot ten goals last game"

i know what exaggeration is lolz but its kinda different its not directly related to the person someone is speaking too.

One's perception of reality is not like that of another's......what I may have perceived as happening could be different than another's perception......so I think it completely depends on the situation.

yeah also one more thing is that exaggeration doesn't necessarily have to be a fact it could be an opinion aswell which would not make it a lie.

Exaggeration could be used to express and give a sense of emphasis. I am no scholar, but it's probably not good to exaggerate too much all the time.

it may come in the category of hurting someone's feelings lolz
but that would be extreme sarcasm...
