Quick (and fun) survery, what is your level in Arabic?

alf2

Islam is a way of life
I'd like to see a quick survery of how fluent the current members here are in Arabic ;) I will answer too after someone else posts, lol.

When I refer to "levels" please say one of the choices:

* Beginner/Elementary
* Intermediate
* Advanced
* Fluent

Questions:

What is your level right now?
What level do you want to be?
What level do you think is necessary?
Do you write, read and speak it?

How did you learn Arabic?
How many years have you studied?
How often do you use it?
How important is writing Arabic in the Arabic alphabet?

Assalamu alaikum, hey it sounds FUN!
k I am going to break the ice here :)
1. I think I am a beginner
2. Fluent insha'Allaah (one day)
3. I'd say fluent.....its better that way because it is the language of the Quran, so the more you know the better
4. I dont speak it, but I can read and write as a beginner of course
5. I learned it as a kid in Islamic school, they required it for us to learn and memorize the Quran.
6. 5 years I am guessing...I really dont remember
7. Not that much...I practice it with my friends but thats about it
8. I dont know.....ehem VERY important?

I would say I am a beginner, I know how to read the Quran since I was a child. But did not know how to write/speak. I have recently joined a course on Classical/Modern Standard Arabic and know I can speak little, etc. InshAllah the book I am covering, shall give me 500 words in my vocabulary after I finish it and there are 5 more books like this.

this is a funny thread and I'll take part to it.

1.I am at an advanced livel of the arabic language knowledge.
2.I wish to be at the level of a good interpreter.indeed in Morocco many teachers called me at the phone to give lessons of italian in arabic.
3.I think it's necessary to be naturally inclined to the languages to understand arabic well.I studied foreign languages and I like them since I was 6 years old.
4.I speak it slowly,I also write it like a child of the elementary school,but I can understand every word and every speech.it's easier for me translate from arabic to italian,than from itlian to english.
5.I did it alone,when I got engaged with my maroccan boyfriend.I liked his language and I wanted to share it with him.I bought a book of arabic grammar and studied it just after my dyplome,I was 19 years old.
6.I studied the basis of arabic for some months,I discovered that I was able to talk arabic without those books,so I could learn it speaking arabic in Morocco.I couldn't accept to be ununderstood,so I engaged myself to learn as much as possible.now I'm teaching arabic to my children.
7.I use it in my daylife,because I want to make my children know that they also have arabic origin,so I speak Italian-arabic.with the maroccan women I have long speeches and everyone says that I speak it better than them.
8.It's important to make the brain elastic,and a language like the arabic is the best one,because it is written from the right to the left.so the children of the future may become very intelligent and patient
