Asalum Alaikum, Everyone.

I signed up for free Quranic Arabic reading lessons online and it seems to be very effective. This is the Site (it is rated as a safe site by McAfee Site Advisor). I managed to work through the first part of lesson one and by the end was recognizing words in Arabic. Perhaps, with persistence I will learn Arabic; Insha Allah (Surat Al Kahf (18):24).

The more I study the teachings of Islam the more I am becoming convinced that Muhammad (Salla Allahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) was restoring the true teachings received by Abraham (May the blessings and the peace of Allah be upon him). I have so much to learn and this site and its' links and posts is helping me. Shokran. Frank

Ayman1,

Asalum Alaikum, Shokran for your kind words and offer of assistance in my trying to learn Arabic. I have bought some very good courses and some not so good courses. ARABIC for English Speakers turned out to be a disappointment except for the headset. It is a difficult way to learn to speak by concentrating on the vocal mechanics of producing the sounds of the letters
(especially, as I was in the military when I was a teenager and early twenties and was more interested in being a warrior then taking care of my teeth- a not so modest way of saying that I wear dentures and usually don't wear them around the house.)

I do enjoy Pimsleur and Michel Thomas as well as LiveMocha's free course. I also am expecting more books from Amazon this week. So, I might have many questions. Again, Shokran.

La ilaha illa Allah
