Striving For Jannah
Sisters and Brothers, REMEMBER ALLAH
When you are going along in your life and it hits you, a calamity, an affliction, a trial, a tidal wave - remember Allah.
When your routine is disrupted by a new intervening affair that demands your attention from your life, remember Allah.
Know that you have been chosen to show yourself for what you are. Know that you are being tested and remember Allah.
For that is the answer to all of your trials and tests. Recognize your difficulties for what they are: an opportunity to grow closer to Him and a means to wipe away your previous sins. Such opportunities only come to fortunate ones, so if you can, rejoice even. Just as only the fire can melt away the lesser metals leaving behind pure gold, so too are you being given a chance to burn the impurities from yourself. This is your time to shine.
Grasp this opportunity firmly and remember Allah. Allah said: "Or do you think that you shall enter the Garden (of Bliss) without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They encountered suffering and adversity, and were so shaken in spirit that even the Messenger and those of faith wo were with him cried: "When (will come) the help of Allah?" Ah! Verily, the help of Allah is (always) near!" (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:214)
So expect the trial. It is coming, don't let it catch you off guard for too long that the affliction causes you to turn away from Him. Remember Him before it hits you, while it is hitting you, and after it hits you. Turn to Him, ask Him, remember Him, and trust Him completely and He will help you. His help is the best of all.
"If Allah helps you, none can overcome you; if He forsakes you, who is there,
after that, that can help you? In Allah, then, let Believers put their trust." (Surah Al-Imran 3:160)
As long as there is life, it is never too late to remember Him. The point of no return does not exist in life. No matter what we have done we can turn back to Him. Allah said, "O son of Aadam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Aadam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Aadam, were you to come to Me with the sins nearly as great as the Earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as it." (At-Tirmidhi)
So, remember Allah. He will remember you. Allah said, "I am with my servant (in knowledge) when he makes mention of Me. If he makes mention of Me to himself, I make mention of him to Myself; and if he makes
mention of Me in an assembly, I make mentiuon of him in an assembly better than it. And if he draws near Me and arm's length, I draw near to him a fathom's length. And if he comes to Me walking, I go to him at speed." (Sahih al-Bukhari)
For the Creator and the Maintainer of the universe, the Mighty, the incomparably Great, the Protector, the One who sees all and hears all, the Majestic, the Loving One, the One to whom all praise is due, to remember you is all the reason in the world for you to remember Him.
