Question: Respect Of Quran

Assalamualaikum @ all

i hope everyone is fine with the grace of Allah, I had i doubt where i have seen quite a number of people keeping the quran on their lap and reading it, i feel keeping the quran on the lap is like disrespecting it. When i told someone don't keep quran on your lap the person asked me which shaikh told you it is disrespect to keep quran on your lap

i need clarification in this regard , Jazak Allah

Walecum As Salaam brother, Allah says in Qur'an in surah Al Waqiah ch 56 v 79-none can touch Qur'an except purified,in the next verse it says-this is the revelation from your lord.so Qur'an includes the words of Allah,so therefore we should offer much respect as possible,and one suggestion to you if you have any query regarding deen it is prefferrable to ask one who is well versed with Qur'an or find truth yourself in Qur'an,because Allah says in ch 16 v 43,always approach the one who is knowledgeable.Allahfiz.
