Preface

The title of the book is likely to raise question regards why necessity for self learning the skill for real-time translation and interpretation of Qur’ān is felt when almost hundred translations and exegeses, classical as well as modernist, are already in circulation and are in easy access through the courtesy of Internet.

The plain answer lies in the existence of a large number of translations and exegeses. Except differences in the interpretation of a small segment of the text, that created various schools of thought and conflicting divisions in the community of the Believers, all the works are more or less similar. Majority of the translations in English and Urdu are in fact borrowed from the work of George Sale and John Rodwell, rather than by revisiting the original source text.
