Separating from spouse QUESTION

I am in need to get some feedback form TTI members. here there is a situation that has taken place and doesn't look good.

Question

If the husband is violent and his family doesn't treat wife and wife's family well. after this situation if the wife wants to live with her own family. can she live with her own family she is not thinking of divorce now because its allowed in islam but not considered good. so then if she returns to her home to allow some time to think if she wants a divorce or not. in these circumstances is she allowed to go back to her home( to her parents home) . iisit not her home anymore . because some people tell me that once a women gets marriied her own house is not her's anymore and she can only come back as guest and not live there anymore. iisit true if then please any evidence provided will be appreciated.

nope mumin01 . it is somene i know . acctually she is my sister. she is facing this problem . and she is realy troubled and so i was looking for help here on TTI.
