Regarding the cinema as permissible

Question:
What is the ruling on the view that the cinema is permissible?.

Answer:
Praise be to Allaah.

No Muslim can doubt that the cinema that exists nowadays is a house of sin, which spreads images of that which Allaah has forbidden, pictures of women who are clothed yet naked, walking with an enticing gait. Indeed in many cases it propagates and promotes sinful sexual relationships between men and women. This is in addition to the music and songs, and the films of crimes that corrupt society. It is haraam to spread and propagate each of these things, so how about if they are combined?

The point is that whatever is like that, it is undoubtedly haraam and any money that comes from it is also haraam. Whoever says that the money earned from the cinema is halaal should examine the situation of contemporary cinema, so that he may realize the error of what he is saying.

People should beware of allowing that which Allaah has forbidden. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And say not concerning that which your tongues put forth falsely: ‘This is lawful and this is forbidden,’ so as to invent lies against Allaah. Verily, those who invent lies against Allaah will never prosper.

A passing brief enjoyment (will be theirs), but they will have a painful torment”

[al-Nahl 16:116-117]

And Allaah knows best.

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
most scholars consider acting as a way of lying, even if its about a true story.

A wise person realizes that “acting” is lying, some Muslims find “fun and entertainment” in lying.

Lying, via soapies, theater, movies, reality shows has become a basic component of a Muslims’ house in the form of the TV. Hours are spent in front of this box that spreads different forms of deceit. Muslims become numb and unconscious to the fact that they are Muslims; one submitted fully to Allah Ta’ala and the bearer of guidance to Paradise for the entire of humanity.

We'v all seen how movies tell us not to drink, use drugs, drive fast, abuse others...etc.
when all these things are being done by the actors and actresses and singers and almost all famous persons.. i mean come on, who are they kidding, if they can lie to some of us they cant lie in front of Allah.

A LIE IS A LIE NO MATTER WHAT!!

Barak Allah feek, But what about commercials? I know there are commercials in Middle East as well, in which they sell products etc. Is it forbidden as well? My Friend is not a Muslim btw, but he wanted me to join and see if I could do casting for the local advertisment agency which were looking for unique people. I don't have to do films and movies etc. there are different categories in which they do casting in.
