Wa'alaikum salaam.
Fasting and spending all night in prayer on the 15th is bid'ah because people put way too much empathise on it. The Prophet (saw) used to fast and pray all night during most of Sha'ban, sometimes all of it, not just this one night.
Try to avoid it.
