My name is Ahmad and i have a younger brother who's 5
Our family has left the dunya but we're lucky to be alive
I've seen my father be shot and my mother raped
I've stood still even when the earth shaked
My house has been broken and my belongings are missing
its like I've survived but what kind of life am i living
I cant say my country is mine
coz we've been stripped from that title for a long time
This is a story of what happened to me and my brother
told from our view and not from another
One night 5 soldiers broke into our house through the door
they beat my father until he fell to the floor
We stood watching as we couldn't do much
my mother begged them but it wasn't enough
So they grabbed my mother and they took her away
we heard her scream 'have shame' is what we heard her say
Before they left they put a gun to my fathers head
he looked them in the eye and not a single tear he shed
The soldier kicked my father to the ground
he pulled his gun out and mumbled 'not a sound'
My father wasn't saying anything but his eyes spoke
the soldier shot him before my fathers anger awoke
Silence took over.....
My brother began to cry and to this they laughed at us
my mother was in the back and i realized she was being treated worse
I closed my eyes to what was happening to her
i couldn't take it coz it was happening to my mother
A tear rolled down my eye to which i wiped it away still surprised
i wished the earth would open and take me in and i would have died
I ran towards her but they pushed me back
one of the soldiers was shouting at my brother while he held his neck
I shouted 'let go' but he didn't listen to me
my brother fell to the ground unconsciously
They took off, walking away whilst staring at me
my mother died after a few days so me and my brother were deprived of a family
Now we stand telling you what we've seen
we've told you our story and hows hard its been
But there's many out there who have it harder then we did
pray for them coz imagine it was happening to your kids
