Silly question

I have a Christian friend who loves to bug me about silly things, he finds small probably otherwise irrelevant things and applys it to proving Christianity. He asked me when the moon is shining hard the glow makes the shape of a cross thus glorifying the cruxifiction. What would any of you say to answer that because I don't really know how to answer that even though I CAN, if that makes sense.

The subject came up when I was walking after isha time with him from the park and other muslim brothers, the moon was making a heavy glow and we could see a beam of light going from all sides making it look like a cross.

As-salaamu `alaykum,

Maa shaa' Allaah! The first post breaks such a silly argument and the second should keep him quiet.

Is this the same Christian friend who always bothers you with other things? I remember you talking about christian friend of yours who keeps trying to prove Islam wrong and influence you in his believes.
If I were you, I would seriously be annoyed and perhaps not be friends with him.

I believe a sister posted the best answers. lol
The line on the moon which is always apparent is greater than one hit wonder of supposed 'cross' on the moon. I've never seen it, and I always look at the moon.

Brother Wassim, I'd rather follow the advice of our Prophet (PBUH) : " Only make friends with a mu'min ( true believer) and don't allow anyone to eat your food except a taqii( a pious person."

I think that will solve the problem and you'll even get a reward for giving up something for the sake of Allah swt and his Prophet ( PBUH )

:tti_sister: May Allah guide us all to the right path. Ameen

the next thing he'll see is a cross on a donut, toast, or on a sandwich.

basically if this guy sees a cross on the moon it's because he wants to see one.

:salam2: do not let it stress you, brother waseem. People can see whatever they want to see and Allah guides only whom He wills. Last year someone found "crucifixions" in their frozen fish sticks which may interest yr friend too. You can recite surah al kafirun for him and agree to disagree. :wasalam:
