the film is innacurate

the comments were interesting in the movie. I agree with them all, but lets not forget who has made this short documentary. All of the people interviewed were those back stabbing brits, never believe anything you see on tv especially from BRITS. They did not say even 1% of their back stabbing methods they pulled and have been pulling through their disgraceful history. These western powers have ten tongues and no heart. They are unhorable and always break their agreements like the film mentioned. With the ottomans they had a 200 year plan to bring down the ottoman empire through corruption of governors by money, alcohol, and women. The film did not show and hides the real history. It was obviously made to divide the ummah more and show our weaknesses... just look how they speak about the ottomans, they did not even say one good thing.
This is why I am posting, this movie may actually divide us more. The part that particularly got me angry was blaming the young turks for nationalism. This would make hatred for arabs against turks and turks to be angry at arabs for revolting. The history is much deeper then this short documentary, and sharif husayn and king faisal never had popular support for what they did. And although the young turks were the first turks to push for nationalism, this was after the push for an Islamic identity and ottoman united state had failed. Basically every other peoples in the empire was benefitting from nationalism, so the young turks were the LAST to go nationalistic. Nationalism actually started with the greeks and then went through many other european provinces in the balkans, before the Arabs and other Muslims adopted it. Again- Turks were last... this movie made it look like they wanted it.
The fall of the ottoman empire can be attributed to the young turks though. The sultan was taken out of power in 1908 (this is the real end of the empire) and in 10 years these young turks lost the empire. If you study the history of the ottoman empires fall you will see that the last few sultans did everything possible to prevent it from ending. However, as we know Allah SWT says in the Quran that "Every nation has it's appointed time..." The ottoman sultan/caliphate time came. Alhamdulillah our history is so beautiful, but do not get your information from the Kuffar or you will never get the truth.

Asslamo Allaikum,

Sultan Abdul Hameed (II) [last Khalifa] was personally a very good guy [from memoirs of others who had met him] & actually strenuously resisted the efforts of the take-over of AL-QUDS (presently Palestine) in very dire circumstance & tried his best but it was too late as the wheels were set in motion (unfortunately)

I absolutely agree with this statement, “The history is much deeper then this short documentary”

Race relations became a problem & even in the present day Middle-East & Turkey I still find them to be a problem (as my thread on the forum) suggests…

May Allah (SWT) give us the understanding of Islam & make us get away from indulging into the trap of shaytaan (race card) ELSE we will suffer like we have before…

Jazakullah Khairun

Asslamo Allaikum Brother Hakan,

Allah (SWT) commands us to be Just and as Humans we should judge everyone with the same yardstick (Turks & the Arabs) and without emotion.

If your question is directed to me then the Answer is Yes & No.

Masha’Allah Khilafah was good in the sense that it provided protection to vulnerable Muslims and added a buffer zone to the Muslim States (of today). Without the Khilafa you can see the devastation which is going on in the Muslim world with no respite.

Khilafah was NOT good about things which were against the Qu’raan and the Sunnah e.g. look at the lavishness of the Palaces and bath houses (of Roxalana etc.)…Look at the Pictures in the palaces, look at the Bid’aa rituals after Salah, look at the elaborate circumcision ceremonies etc. But NONE of these justify what the Saudees did in collaboration with the British in bringing down the Khilafa, look at the spread of Sufi’ism in the Islamic world etc.

You will find many Brothers/Sisters who are adamant about the “whiter-then-white” image of the Saudees & the Arabs, but the plain truth is that they were complicit (unfortunately) in disobeying the Muslim Ameer & breaking the Khilafa and we are all suffering because of the absence and breakage of the Ottoman Khilafa.

Hope it answers your question if it was directed to me.

I think it was an amalgamation of factors, themes and people that led to the collapse of the Caliphate and not one one thing in particlar.

Our greatest weakness is to relinquish the gift of Allah to us; namely to remain on the correct aqeedah and to consolidate our frontiers against all forms of kufr, bid'ah and non Islamic additions to the understanding, interpretation and application of Deen.

On a primary level this means government, unity of thought, cohesiveness of policy and responsible action by those in authority based on the Qur'an and Sunnah.

To the common masses, this refers to knowledge of our religion, the ability and willingness to serve Allah as He should be worshipped, as He should be loved, as He should be feared and (what we have lost today) to believe and hope in His Qadar and still see everything as positive even when our own intelligence look to Non Muslims for guidance and as models for progress.

The Usmani Khilafa had been severely shrinking in size and spirituality since the 1600s. We had begun to lose track of the akhirah, the purpose of a caliphate, the responsibility to Non Muslims, the love of following select aspects of Islam at the expense of a holistic love of all things in religion.

When Muslims start to go towards the Duniya and far from Allah, He allows the Kufaar (His other slaves) to punish and humiliate us (in short they are wake up calls to reform and turn back to Him before it is too late).

By the 1700s it was easier to win wars against the Caliphate and by the 1850s after the Crimean War, it had started to take loans out from western banks and for the first time in 1300 years, riba entered the Muslim world through the Kufaar.

By the 1900s nationalism was the latest fashion trend and the Christian religion an easy tool to attract warring western nations to destroy an ailing empire.

By the 1920s there was nothing left. Ataturk merely dissolved what was already dead. The Usmani Khilafa had severely reduced the powers of all religious leaders in government since the early 1800s and was gradually increasing clauses from French, Swiss, German and even British constutions that was against Islam.

We have only ourselves to blame. But, just as we have fallen, we can just as easily rise again.... if we follow His Deen and follow His Guidance. We can choose to be in the Win Win situation He has promised us or go towards the certain loss Iblis has enticed our predecessors with. The choice is ours and ours alone. The Kufaar can only do so much and ony if we let them. As long as we have Allah and we believe in Him with all our hearts, no one can touch us and we have nothing to fear and everything to gain.

I would also add while Sultan Abdul Hamid was one of the last great Muslim leaders of the twentieth century, the Usmani Caliphate was already on the brink of collapse. It takes a united effort to take a stand and an even larger ability to defend against internal enemies that aid and assist external aggressors. However, the Abdul Hamid Series, which may be exaggerated to some degree, shows it was a combined effort on the part of several European nations time after time to dislodge the Caliphate rather than a singular country on its own. Even in its most sensitive time, it was a bastion of grand power in the cage of danger against more powerful and highly determined opponents intent on destroying the Caliphate.
