Assalam alikum,
Jabir Ibn Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless and greet him, said (relating what Jibreel, peace be upon him, said when he came to him): "....and know that sharaf (honour and nobility) of the believer lies in his qiyamul layl (standing in Tahajjud), and his 'Izzah (dignified greatness) lies in being needless (and independent) from the people". [Al-Hakim, 3289/Tabarani, 4278].
