The Precious hours

In a wonderful hadith, the Prophet, peace be upon him, said that on the last third of every night, Allah Almighty calls to His servants:

Is there anyone to invoke Me, so that I may respond to his invocation? Is there anyone to ask Me, so that I may grant him his request? Is there anyone seeking My forgiveness, so that I may forgive him? (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

ask Allah sincerelly to forgive your sins and to grant you happiness in this world and in the hereafter. Do not forget your brothers and sisters.
The doors of goodness are numerous and wide open. There are many ways to Paradise, and the more time and effort you give, the more reward and blessings you will get, inchallah

Abu Hurayra (Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace be upon him, his family, and companions) was asked, “What prayer is most virtuous, after the obligatory prayers?” He said, “Prayer in the depths of the night.” [Muslim, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Nasa’i, Ibn Majah]

Allah has praised those who wake up at night for His remembrance, supplication, and to seek forgiveness and entreat Him, saying, ‘They forsake their beds to cry unto their Lord in fear and hope, and spend of what We have bestowed on them. No soul knows what is kept hid from them of joy, as a reward for what they used to do.’ [Qur’an, 32: 16-17]

And He said, ‘Those who pray for pardon in the watches of the night.’ [Qur’an, 3: 17]

Ya Rab! Forgive me..
Asalamualaykum Sister,
JazakAllah Khair for the reminder...
What exactly are these hours - i have always wondered.... What constitutes the depth of the night?
And second, does it count the same if one has not slept until this hour as opposed to specifically waking up for the prayer??

Allah Most High said, “Establish worship at the going down of the sun until the dark of the night, and (the recital of) the Qur’an at dawn. Lo! (the recital of) the Qur’an at dawn is ever witnessed. And some part of the night awake for its recital, as voluntary worship for you. It may be that your Lord will raise you to a praised estate.” [Qur’an, 17: 78-79]

If one divides the night in thirds, then the final third is most virtuous. [Durr al-Mukhtar]

Voluntary (nafl) prayer at night is more virtuous than voluntary prayer during the day. However, the full reward mentioned in the Qur’anic verses and Prophetic hadiths refers to worship that was preceded by sleep. This is also understood from the very linguistic meaning of tahajjud, which is to struggle rid oneself of sleep. [Ibn Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar, quoting Ibn Amir Haajj’s Halba]

From what i read and also felt in my heart in prayer, the best part of the night for prayer is the second half. And Allah knows best.

La ilaha illa-Allah.
Assalam alaikum, yes the night prayers. You can also get a bigger reward insha'Allah if you made Fajr prayer when it's light out, but of course not yet sunrise.

Thank you for reading and alhamdullilah for all the favours of Allah.
But i have to ask you dear brother why you say one can get a bigger reward when prays Fajr prayer when is light out and what evidences you have ?
Fajr prayer is one of the obligatory prayer and we are very much advised to pray our obligatory prayer when their proper time beggins and to not delay them with purpose.
may Allah guide us.

Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. Because in a hadith by Tirmidhi it's written to "Offer the morning prayer in the light of the morning". In another hadith's it said's that, “Offer the morning prayer in the morning, for this is greater for your reward. (Musnad Ahmad (4/140), Sunan Abu Dawud (424), and Sunan Ibn Majah (672)

But I might be wrong so, Allahu Alam.
