Assalamu Allaicumu dear brothers and sisters.

May you be in the best state of heath and iman.

Author of one of the most controversial littery work in this time "The Jewel of Al Madinah" that should be published in 20 countries all over the world is annoncing the conintation of the first book called "The sword of Al Madinah".

In this book Author Sherry Jones announcent event that hapend betwen Hazrat Ali and Hazrat Aisha(the mother of belivers)(may Allahs peace and blessing be upon them). In this book she is talking about life of hazrat Aisha after death of our Prophet Mohammed s.a.w.s and tensions between her and hazrat Ali.

Now I am going to quete her"Twenty five years after death of Prophet Mohammed s.a.w.s Aisha has led troops in the beatel against Hazrat Ali.That even is known in history like First "Islamic civil war" and it is supposing that in that time has began devision on Sunni and Shia Muslims".

"That is very existing story" she said.

In one of her last interviews she said something else that has made me very angry and sad.
I am going to quete her:"
I do not have information about how much people aprove my book,I only heard fro some importante names. And mayority of Muslims like "The Jewel of Madina".Many of them contacted me to give me good credits and to thank me that I wrote this book. Those who dont aprove my book probably have thier own view of God Messanger and his way of life.My ideas probaly do not mach with thier and taht is why my opinion probably is wrong for them. They did not comlein on my descring of Mohammed s.a.w.s.,except on those parts that are refering his love towerd womens. In Islamic tradition his relatioship towerd womens was very explict....."

It has made me very angry to hear that many Muslims support and like this book.
So my question is who is right???Are we right becasue we dissagree with this horrible book,or are right the Muslims who like this book and who support it???Are they hypoctirts in Islam than???
May Allah bless you and may Allah subhan we teal protect our Ummah.

Astaghfirullaah. Pitiful. Jazaakillaahi khayran for bringing this to our attention. Mind you I had to delete that picture since many of us wouldn't want to see it. You can probably guess why.

As-salaamu `alaykum warahmatullaah.

I'm guessing that the front cover picture was suppose to be a representation of `Aa'ishah, may Allaah be pleased with her and curse those who defame her. I find it offensive that anyone depicts the companions, especially the mothers of the believers.

I hope you understand. I know you didn't intend any harm, but I get put off by such pictures. They anger me, and I believe that's why the authors/illustrators put them up in the first place, to annoy and mock us and our salaf (predecessors).

Was-salaam

Jones provided the manuscript of The Jewel of Medina to Islamic website IslamOnline.net, where the novel was reviewed on August 18, 2008 by writer and poet Marwa Elnaggar. Elnaggar criticizes the book for its inaccurate portrayal of pre-Islamic Arab culture (including non-Arabic customs such as bowing and purdah), and suggests that Jones was influenced by "the idea of the exotic and mystical Orient." Elnaggar describes The Jewel of Medina as "an attempt by a Western writer with little knowledge of Arabic, Arabia, Islam, and Muslims using her own Western, 21st century values, ideals and emotions to portray an unrecognizable version of the well-known and well-documented story of `A’ishah." However, Elnaggar argues that despite the novel's "inaccuracies, its faults, and its biases," its publication should not be stopped. On September 2, 2008 Elnaggar published Jones' response to her review to "present as many sides of an issue as possible" and "for the sake of objectivity" approached the writer and invited her to an interview where she can express her own point of view and clarify many questions that were raised. Unfortunately, Jones said that her publishers have asked her not to speak before the book is published. Instead, Jones sent Elnaggar a column where she speaks about The Jewel of Medina and the motives behind writing it. However, Jones has promised Elnaggar an interview after the novel is published. On October 11, 2008 Elnagger wrote "A Second Look at Jewel of Medina".

Well its Sherry Jones who is saying she has been praised by some Muslims. We need to first ask whether that claim is true?

Important name I guess can refer to scholars, famous Muslim reverts etc. We don't know about any such name, must have been big news in Muslim world.

These statement casts as serious doubt over her claims.

O ye who believe! If a wicked person comes to you with any news, ascertain the truth, lest ye harm people unwittingly, and afterwards become full of repentance for what ye have done. (49:6)

Allaicomu Salam dear brother

Jazzak Alah khair dear brother for your reply.

May Allah subhan we teala protect the honour of beloved Prophet s.a.w.s and honour of his family and his Companions.

Regrading that she claims that there are Muslims who support her book,it might be truth brother because she must have some base for her statment. They support her idea of "free speach" although her freedom of speach is inolting us like Muslims. Those who support this book are real hypocrits and may Allah subhan we teal stop them.

With her "sweet talk" she is saying how she onyl wanted to give respect for Rasulallah s.a.w.s. and that she only wanted to show other image of Islaam, and not the one who is pressented in media.

May Allah punish all those who sleander Prophet s.a.w.s,his wifes, family and his companions.

May Allah bless you dear brother

Allah knows best!

A lot of people come on T.V. and make statement for which they have no basis. Let us not judge our Muslim brothers and sister on her claims.

Thats exactly what I was trying to do. I have read the review of her book by one of the Islamonline editor. According to the review she has even got some of the basic information wrong. Than she come along and says majority of Muslims liked my book, just a sentence before she said I don't know how much of my book has been approved. I haven't read any where or heard from any Muslim that have praised her work. What conclusion do I draw from it.

However, she could have got the praise from those 'name-sake' Muslims who have migrated to U.S. and says that Islam exist today because of America (Astagfurallah) and that there is no difference between capitalism and Islamic economic system.
