I hope all are fine inshallah. I came online after i think umm...4 or 3 days to come and find out that a thread i posted "continue the story" on word games section closed. Reason>>>>> some people and i do mean SOME people just dont like to see threads going "peacefully" or in good humour. :angryred:
And becuz of SOME people not only mine but 3 other threads are also closed for the same reason. :(:(
When Mods said dont talk in rude humour i tried my best not to post any ANY post which might be "rude..." or BAD humour or containing bad words etc etc...Question is if i can try it... and prevent my hands from typing foul things why cant some of us do that too? (NOT pointing out anyone and im not sayin im perfect :D) No nobodys perfect.
If somebody doesnt like other's thread doesnt mean they shud start "bugging" on the thread and in the end that thread gets closed.....bottom line...plz let tti remain as the same "happy envoirnment" it is.......

:wasalam:(just sharing my thoughts sorry if i offended someone. But really ....)

As-salaamu `alaykum

I was following those threads for a while, and these are the following points I've observed.

1) They are very pointless. A thread might be about continuing a story, or this or that, but then you get some really stupid posts which defeat the purpose of halaal fun and the threads in general. The topic of the thread becomes nothing. We don't mind off-topic posts, but no-topic posts are something else.

2) There have been rude comments which are simply intolerable here on TTI. They may seem light and petty on the surface, but I think we should behave a bit more appropriately, as some of us are more easily offended by others. And being Islamic forums, they should never have been uttered in the first place.

3) People are speaking to one another in transliterated Urdu, I have already mentioned the reasons for why we shouldn't be doing that here, and these have been mentioned in the past. These forums are English so posts should be in English. What's worse is that I was finding people saying rude, silly comments, using terms like 'pyar', which aren't exactly needed here. Most of us probably have no idea of what they mean, so a thread becomes hijacked and is understood by only Urdu speakers. If these matters are not addressed in the forum rules, they will be amended inshaa' Allaah, yet common sense alone is enough to dictate that English forums are for the English language!

4) There is way too much free-mixing on them. Way too much. People posting silly comments to the opposite gender, with too many "loooollllzz' and smiley faces. This is not necessary and more harmful than beneficial. If you can't stop using smileys, at least limit your usage of them.

In above, I ask myself and all of us, do any of the four points constitute to halaal fun or not? Some halaal fun becomes excessive and becomes "haraam fun" if that's what you like to call it. TTI is an enviornment of learning, benefitting, da`wah and brotherhood, not time-wasting, free-mixing and fooling around. I'm not saying that all these posts/threads are like that, but it seems to have entered each of the closed threads.

Allaah knows best, it's nice to have fun and relax, but there are limits we must observe.

Was-salaam
