Our live & death in this world are because of Allah ta'3la so as a muslim we must have if not most at least some of the du'as that we shd have implanted in our heart for self protection like our Prophet Muhammad s.a.w did. Remember when he and his companion (Saideena Abu Bakr r.a) was surrounded by the Quraish mushrikeen in the desert? they were seaching for him with intention to kill him. RasoolAllah s.a.w. knew that so he recited surah Yaasiin (Ayaat 9) which made the enemy blurred and unable to see everything around them while actually RasoolAllah & Abu Bakr just lying down near the enemies horses, subhanallah.
