Salaam alikoum to all Muslims.
My question is: Are all hadiths valid?
I have tried my best to do research, but feel shaky and confused.
I know that there are 2 distinctions--
1)Hadeeth Shareef (sayings and actions of the prophet pbuh)
2) Hadeeth Qudsi (revelations to the Prophet from Allah SWT)
I know that there are 3 categories explaining the validity of these hadiths.
1)Saheeh -hadiths which are intact and without error
such as Bukhari and Muslim
2)Hassan hadiths- which are good, but which may contain true but weak reporting.
3) da'eef hadiths- which are weak and defective.
Could someone supply me with their opinions?
My husband tells me the only infalliable hadiths are from the books of Bukhari and Muslim. These books were collected 183 years after the death of the prophet (pbuh) does anyone know farther history of the collected hadiths? I would love to know. thankyou so much.
