if you use a vending machine to buy one bottle of beverage, but somehow get two bottles instead of one. What would the islamic stand be on that?

My take is, if no one is around (like the vendor) then take as a barakah/qadr and enjoy!

My question: How many times have you put money in and got nothing? Or it wanted more money than asked on the price due to an error. This has happened to me numerous times.

What can you do with the extra item? You can leave it in the slot. But someone else will come and get it and the vendor will still lose money. Since you cant stick it back in its place, and wherever the vending machine is the people there are probably not associated with it and will do nothing.

Your choices are: Keep it, give it away to someone or leave it in the slot.
Either way, money is lost to the vendor. My option would be give it away, since I really dont need that 2nd Snickers bar or bottled Coke anyway xD

This is all my personal opinion and its based on the economical aspect. Not from an Islamic view.

lol why does it matter, it is just a vending machine, just take them home and save them for another day.

what i hate about the vending machines is they are a rip off for drinks and snacks.

i was in Manchester and i put money in to get a Mountain Dew Energy, i pressed the number and it never give me my drink, i went to report it to a customer service desk and asked a security guard, and they just say they dont have a key for it and they can't refund me and they just expect us to ring a number to a company down south, i aint calling a number just so i can enjoy a drink.

what a bleeding waste >.<

never using them again.

Yeah, use them at your own risk. :SMILY23:

It happened to me once at an airport. I put money in, got my item and was supposed to get change back - except the change never came out. I tried to find someone to report it to, but there wasn't anywhere to do so. So yes, that was one extremely expensive pack of crackers.
