Assalamou Alaikoum Wa Rahamtullahi Wa Barakatuh

Games have to do with pictures so it is haram.

Here is a fatwa by Sheikh Abdullah Al Aqeel hafidhahullah from the blog of Br. Mustafa George hafidhahullah

Q - What is the ruling on electronic video games?

    Answer: What are they?

Questioner: They are games played on a screen. They possess pictures, sounds, etc.

Sheikh: Pictures (of living things) are totally forbidden. The Messenger - salallahu alayhi wa salem- said: "May the curse of Allah be upon the pictures makers/takers". They are not permissible.

so brother ayyub, television is also haram then.....:):):):)......, in my opinion the content is what make whether television or video games haram or not, not the TV or video games itself:):)

If the content are haram like *!*!*!*!ography etc, no doubt the content indeed haram and we can change the channel or turn it off but there are also good and beneficial content and we can watch it.

but I respect you, if you don't have TV or never want to watch you tube...:SMILY139::SMILY139::SMILY139:

I HATE TV, even if you're not watching something that is haraam, you are most likely wasting your time when you could be doing something more beneficial islamically. Even the so called "Islamic" channels are full of music and fitnah and poilitics. The only purely islamic channels i have come across are Saudi Quran and Saudi Sunnah.

Playing games or other such evil things is not at all Halal, but simply a waste of time.

The fact that it is obligatory to denounce evil is indicated in a great deal of evidence, such as the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “Whoever among you sees an evil act, let him change it with his hand (by taking action); if he cannot, then with his tongue (by speaking out); and if he cannot, then with his heart (by at least hating it and regarding it as evil) – but that is the weakest of faith.” Narrated by Muslim, 49.

The fact that it is haraam to help others commit sin [for u by creating a gaming blog] is indicated by the verses in which Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Help you one another in Al‑Birr and At‑Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allaah. Verily, Allaah is Severe in punishment”
    [al-Maa’idah 5:2]

“And it has already been revealed to you in the Book (this Qur’aan) that when you hear the Verses of Allaah being denied and mocked at, then sit not with them, until they engage in a talk other than that; (but if you stayed with them) certainly in that case you would be like them. Surely, Allaah will collect the hypocrites and disbelievers all together in Hell”
    [al-Nisa’ 4:140]

Try to understand, gaming with give you no good.

I would request you to study ISLAM and try to create an Islamic Blog indeed, we would be happy to join you there :D

    :salam2:

Actually, you can find scholars whose say that television, radio, video, dvd, internet and anything else than reading Quran is haram.

If you listen other scholars you may find other opinions.

    Asslamaliekum warahmatullahi wabrakatu,
Brother Ayyub are you sure the translation & context of hadith you posted is correct?

I have not seen any ulama forbidding games like basketball or soccer, etc.

Assalamou Alaikoum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh

Akhi there are exceptions. Like there are exception for taking pictures and taking part in elections.

Here is a text that Sheikh Utheymenn rahimahullah wrote when playing soccer is halal and when it stop being halal.

Here is also a text abot watching soccer and if it is permissible:

    Asslamaliekum warahmatullahi wabrakatu,
Yes I know brother. :) What I was asking was this word "not permissible" that was in bracket, becoz we had a quite a long discussion on islamically permissible sports here a while back and I remember some similar hadith but the interpretation of that was "they are void= there is no reward for them" not that they are not permissible.

I could be mistaken though, so thats why asked. :)
May Allah (swt) forgive my errors.
