Almighty reveals about purpose of life, life after death and hereafter, in many places in Quran. Prophet:saw: clarifies many aspects of life after death.

Quran:
Say: "It is Allah Who gives you life, then gives you death; then He will gather you together for the Day of Judgment about which there is no doubt": But most men do not understand.Quran 45:26

"Every soul shall have a taste of death: And only on the Day of Judgment shall you be paid your full recompense. Only he who is saved far from the Fire and admitted to the Garden will have attained the object (of Life): For the life of this world is but goods and chattels of deception."Quran 3:185

"He who is blind in this world will be blind in the hereafter."Quran 17:72

Life after death
Excerpt:
Muslims believe that the present life is a trial in preparation for the next realm of existence. When a Muslim dies, he or she is washed and wrapped in a clean, white cloth (usually by a family member) and buried after a special prayer, preferably the same day. Muslims consider this a final service that they can do for their relatives and an opportunity to remember that their own existence here on earth is brief.

The Coming of a believers death
Excerpt:
Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) commands: "Write the book of my servant in ‘Illiyeen.’" [Al-Quran 83:18] And so the believer’s book/record of deeds is written in Illiyeen. Then Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) says, “Return him to the earth, for (I promised them) I have created them from it, and into it I shall return them, and from it I shall extract (resurrect) them a second time.” [Al-Quran 20:55]

Islamic quotes on Death & the Hereafter
Excerpt:
It is narrated that ‘Uthmân b. Áffân – Allâh be pleased with him – said in a sermon:
Son of Adam! Know that the angel of death who has been assigned to you has not ceased to pass you and move on to others, ever since you have been in this world. But it is as if he is about to pass someone else and move on to target you, so be careful and prepare for him (by correcting your deeds). And do not forget him, for he does not forget you. And know o son of Adam, if you are heedless about yourself and do not prepare, no one else will prepare for you. You must meet Allah the Mighty and Majestic, so take for yourself and do not leave it to someone else. Peace be on you.
Abû Bakr Al-Daynûrî, Al-Mujâlasah wa Jawâhir Al-Ílm 2: 73, 74.

May Almighty Allah protect each of us.... Ameen.
