Assalamalaikum brother and sisters.

I need your help regarding this issue, long time ago i have borrowed someone's money, and forgot to return back
i just remember recently, i really want to return back it to the owner,but the problem is i have left my hometown for
so long time, and totally lost contact with this friend. in this situation what should i do? can i just give this amount of
money as charity to any masjid or person in need under my this friend's name? really need u guys advice. and
wish u all Ramadan Mubarak.

Wa 'alaikumassalam warahmatullah,
I had the same problem,I had borrowed books from a person,he left the country then I realised,I had not returned it to him.
So,I tried contacting him and left a message.

If you can find any contact with that person?Or if you can visit their home and try finding their contact and then contact them in sha'Allah?

Visit his old address if there is a chance he still lives there. If not, maybe he left a forwarding address with the person that moved in. I hate social media, but maybe you can find him on FB or something too. Good luck.

Now that reminds me, I have a similar situation, I will insha allah act on it tomorrow. Am not sure whose money it is. found in my carry bag. Thanks to you!

Best would be to keep aside that money, if its not too large. Some day the person might turn up. But like others said, its a connected world today. Since its a friend, You should be able to reach to the person. Matter of finding the right leads and contacts...
