I hope you are all fine. Its been ages since i have made a post on TTI. Anyhow, i have a very important question. I couldn't find the exact answer elsewhere so i turned to TTI again. The question is when can one pay dowry ?
Let me explain it a bit more. For instance if I were just getting married, should i pay the dowry to my wife at the time of the nikah or i can pay it afterwards when we consummate the marriage (in the next 6 months) ?
I would appreciate if your answers are in the light of Quran and Sunnah and/or carry a reference. On a cultural note, i know i can pay it later but i want to know what Quran or Hadith say about it.
