One day the Prophet asked his dear companions whether they knew who was poor. They answered that poor was one who had no dirham or dinar (money)' He said: "In my Ummah, the poor is that man who would appear on the Day of the Judgment before Allah; he had offered prayer; he had paid Zakat ;he had observed fast; but he would have abused somebody, he would have falsely accused some one; he would have unauthorizedly taken some one else's property; he would have murdered some one; would have hit some body. All his virtues would be given to his victims. If his Virtues are finished before his wicked deeds are finished, then the errors and sins of the victims would be given to him and he would be thrown into the Hell.'' (Muslim)

Such a man is really poor. His condition is like that trader who has goods worth one thousand rupees but he is a debtor for two thousand rupees. How can such a man be called rich ?

A religious man who offers certain prayers or performs certain forms of worship, but even after that performs certain evil deeds, behaves rudely with the people, treats poor and helpless people cruelly, how then such a man will be called righteous?

The Prophet has explained by quoting an example. He said that the best moral character melts errors like water and bad morals spoil man's record as vinegar spoils honey.

That was really true and how people always misinterpret the meaning of poor

In a crazy world like today where we muslim amassing wealth and running after time and money ... we forget about values and passing of moral values to our youth and children....

When the Messenger SAW said the best among man are those with good moral character ....

Brother, Just to add your nice article, I've just got it from a friend:

Do you ever heard of Al hadits which say about someone who is not rich, but he really make his mind than say inside his heart "If I'm as rich as fulan, I'll spend it for charity" while he keeps that inside his mind until he dies, than that person will have the same reward as the rich man.
In that Hadits Rasulullah said about 3 kinds of people:

1. People who have knowledge and riches and spend it in Allah's way
2. People who have knowledge but do not have the riches
3. People who do not have either knowledge nor wealth

Rasulullah said that the first man will enter Jannah and people who are mentioned second will have the same reward as the first one, by having that intention which has been written above, and he keeps that intention until died.

And I also want to ask, if thou have seen al Hadits telling about someone who have 2 Dirham and he gives shadaqah 1 Dirham, and another person gives shadaqah 1000 Dinar from 10.000 Dinar which he own.
Rasulullah said that the one shadaqah more little have the bigger reward from Allah, why? Because he sacrifice his primary needs for shadaqah.

Then, offcourse about Al hadits that already well known to Muslims, that the most richest person are those who are satisfied with what they own.
