i no longer focus on the bible or who wrote it etc. we as muslims have the most perfect of guides in the quran. to look back at the bible is like trading in a rolls-royce for a honda civic. no one in their right mind would do that.

    Asalaamalikum,

That's a funny analogy you made lol

It's a fact that the Prophet (saw) wrote the Quran and it's a fact that the Bible is written by many "inspired" men. Here's something, I ask Christians to think about:

    1) Can you and I become "inspired"

They usually respond yes, if no then that is fine too.

    2) I ask if we can then change by adding/modifying what is in the Bible

They usually respond no because it is already completed (which is untrue, b/c they still make changes! but let this stand for the sake of this arguement).

    3) Then how come the 2nd, 3rd, 4th ...10th person who was "inspired" know if it was completed? What if I feel like it wasn't completed just the 2nd, 3rd, 4th...10th person? These men are no special men. Can so many men be trusted?

Then they usually state well because one person could not finish it all.

    4) Is this really true? An author of a book never finishes his story? I guess the library books are all unfinished books and continued by someone else.

Alhumdullillah- the Quran was only written by the Prophet (saw) who was an illiterate man. Allah swt wisdom and knowledge is infinite. When I think about this, alhumdulillah this really makes you appreciate the Quran.

common christian will tell you their bibles are divinely inspired and god "moved" men to penned down, or in another words "god breathed" even though their bible shows evidence of flaws and contradictions and perversions like incest and violence.

common christian when being told their bible isnt perfect is "well, god wants us to know god has humbled himself and show us his imperfections and if god can show us hes imperfections who are we humans to be arrogant and claim were perfect?"

u see, christians have this idea that god is like a man but many many times bigger..mebe like king kong?? ..esp since sm of their excerps from htier bible goes like "lets fashioned men out of OUR own images!!"

grrrrr...curse are those who twisted the words of a prophet to perpetuate their own missions

Atually everyone, the Quran WAS ORDERED TO BE WRITTEN by our Nabi (SAW), but it was Zaid (RA) who wrote it. Our Nabi (SAW) was given the revelations from Jibril (AS), but the Sahabis who memeorized the Quran kept on dieing (From Jihad), so our Nabi (SAW) asked Zaid (RA) to write the revelations down on papers, which made the Quran. MAy Allah Ta Ala give Zaid blessings in his grave. Ameen.

I know i'm getting a little rusty here, but i have read about this... though I'll check on it in a second insha'allah.

The Prophet :saw: did not order the making of the Qur'aan into a Mushaf (book form - sheets bound w/cover). It was only during the time of Abu Bakr, that the Qur'aan was complied in such a way. There was much dicussion over this, but finally due to the necessity of the situation, it was put together.

Before that however there were collections of suhuf - sheets on which the verses of Qur'aan were written, but the weren't altogether until a later time.

    Bunkum

What absolute and utter drivel. I have never come across such a woeful analogy on the discreditation of the Bible.
Not one of your points above show even the slightest attempt in trying to prove the corruptness of the scriptures.
Let's not beat about the bush and get to the heart of the matter. Here's my challenge to you.
Lets take the book of Matthew. Please show me one chapter or even one verse that has been falsified/added on/deleted.

hey there BG i would show hundreds of illogical and contradictory verses in the bible whether historical scientific or the theology and it sources in ancient hindu and budhist scriptures but that is not the purpose of this site it would turn into a mess! just one thing you guys need to stop policing the world it is enough! you wanna dictate to people what to say what to think what to watch and not watch this is a muslim forum and there is none of us who would go to a christian website and tell them what to do or what to preach in there! i have been on some before and i can tell you that hate insults and disregard is all over the place the memebers of this site are angels compared to that we never insult prophets,or books we just investigate and share our thoughts with those who want to hear them we are not forcing anybody here i asked you theological questions last time you did not answer so it is usless i believe to object to something you can not prove you can always pm me and give me your ansewers if you want.

Million. If I said something untruthful about the Qur'an. You'd get upset. Am I not correct?
Likewise with people who believe in the Bible. Can you blame them for being upset especially they are not afforded the opportunity to put forward their views.?
Christians are not Bible thumping muslims into becoming Christians. There is no evidence of that in todays world. There is religious hatred coming from all sides. Especially Christians and muslims, but not much from the Jews.
Yes this is a muslim forum and I acknowledge that. If you are proud to be a muslim and the truth Islam upholds, then you should have nothing to hide.
While this is a muslim website which is for the benefit of better understanding of the faith, it is not about criticising another faith in the comfort of knowing there will be no rebuttals in defence of what they believe in.
If islam is the truth, then it would not be necessary to criticise other faiths. The truth speaks out!!!!.
This is one of the reasons I came here. To find the real truth. I have been told time and again about how the scriptures have been corrupted. I wanted to see for myself what these corruptions are and how the Quran corrects the misconceptions of the scriptures. The only way I can do this is to ask questions.
I have asked many muslim friends to what extent the scriptures have been corrupted. Guess what. They quote corrupt verses from the corrupt Bible to prove the corruptness of the Bible. But they cannot show me how the corrupt verses came to be corrupt.
Quoteing a "corrupt" verse is not proof of corruption. That's not good enough. One has to know the true version to compare the correct with the corrupt. So somewhere out there there MUST be an authentic and genuione Bible. And that my friend is why I put out this challenge. Let the truth come out. There is nothing to hide.

Hey BG, can I ask you to do something? Go to www.evilbible.com and tell me what you think about it.

If what the website says is true, then I atleast learned something.

Yes sir i have been to that website. Many muslims are very quick to guide me to that web which by the way was wtitten and compiled by anonymous parties. I don't have a problem with that.

Yes the Bible does have contradictions. It does have unsavoury revelations of things that have happened. It does have passages which i find rather perplexing (for example the story about Jonah being swallowed by a whale).

All these attributes that I've mentioned in the Bible, I've also come across in the Qur'an.

But does this mean these books have been corrupted. THAT my friends is the issue here I'm trying to convey.

I have no doubt that the Quran is a compendium of works given to Mohammed by Allah. There many perplexing things that I question about the writings in the Qur'an. But to suggest that it is corrupt without any proof is simply being foolish.

Yes that website you talk of has so much negative to say things to say about the bible. What is written is written. Those are the hard unpalatable facts. And if the Bible has described itself in the manner that website has portrayed, then that's every reason to reject the teachings of the scriptures. Let alone even contemplating written issues as being corrupted added on etc. But to suggest whatever is written as being corrupt/falsified/added on etc without any proof is simply foolish.

And if that was the case why do muslims still use verses even to verify their own faith? An example here is the Bible prophesying the coming of Mohammed.

Whatever the unpalatable things and how that website portrays them certainly lends credence to the fact that that Book (the Bible) was written to bring about its own demise. But it hasen't. Indeed it's the biggest seller of all time. despite all those negative connotations it still remains one of the biggest sellers. The question is WHY, WHY,WHY? what attracts people , even muslims to that book?
IIf I were to look for a spiritual home and I came across this website you talk of. Then forget it. I woudn't even contemplate joining that faith, let alone even read the Bible and to even begin to talk of add ons falsifications etc. would be ludicrous and a waste of time.

In view of what I said above, my challenge still stands.

brother the books of shakespear is also always one of the biggest seller but does it mean it is the book of god or something is related with god?

may be you have heard a german author wrote a book which called*das parfüm*by patrick süskind. its also since 1990 one of the biggest seller in germany. But i didn´t understand with the argument of *biggest seller* what you want to prove.People love to read romantic book which is wrote by humanbeing and also the bible which has 1000 of contradiction and i asked 100 of religious teacher and people they didn´t had any answer and told me just to submit it.

And as a muslim first i read bible when i had a topic about galileo and his theory in the school.

my teachers didn´t had any answer about following verse:

1 Chronicles 16:30: “He has fixed the earth firm, immovable.”
Psalm 93:1: “Thou hast fixed the earth immovable and firm ...”
Psalm 96:10: “He has fixed the earth firm, immovable ...”
Psalm 104:5: “Thou didst fix the earth on its foundation so that it never can be shaken.”
Isaiah 45:18: “...who made the earth and fashioned it, and himself fixed it fast...”

if i have some question about physick then i should go ahead to ask about that topic.

As an atheist people will call bible as a unlogical (Factual Errors) book because of some stories but as a muslim we are not allowed to call bible as an unlogical book, we just call it corrupted as its mentioned in holy quran.

acctually this a website which answer misconceptions about islam. We dont quote bible verse gladly if any brother dont want to discuss about bible verse.

its nothing wrong that you have some question related quran then dont shame and go ahead to ask the misconceptions which you have about quran.

hope allah will give us opputurnity to help you to take out from those misconceptions.

    peace
