Is there anyone here from Oman? Well, here are some beautiful pictures taken in Oman-Slalah, I wanted to share with you guys. Actually I have never been there, so obviously its not me who took the pictures

For people who don't know what or where is Oman.

Oman is a Muslim country in southwest Asia, on the southeast coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It borders the United Arab Emirates on the northwest, Saudi Arabia on the west, and Yemen on the southwest. so it takes a place in the south-west of the gulf.

I wonder these pics pertain to Oman?. Arid climate of the region contrasts these pics and seems these may belong to a tropical belt.

Those are if am not wrong the Al Hajar Mountains (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Hajar_Mountains) or Dhofar [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dhofar]. Most of Oman is semi arid. Even Yemen is rich in flora and fauna. Dont forget the Oasis too..

This thread and responses, is a good example of why one should value elementary school education the most. Go tell that to the kids out there too "Social science is most important of lessons for us beings of intelligence! "
Even after one becomes old, one should keep revisiting the school books. Do not throw away the World Map (Atlas), dictionary ..... very handy

I often find, many things are best covered in impartial school syllabus. Let me stress on word Impartial School Syllabus, because I have come to know from interactions with people around world, some lessons can be biased mainly due to propaganda. Yet again often the bias is evident. And the righteous kid will feel cheated, when truth is hidden.

Earth, its inhabitants are, one big continuum of wonder, an amazing creation of Almighty, when one stop seeing it from within the man made boundaries, is it not !
