The above story relates to a project by the World Bank in Kenya. The story from a western perspective is that the Kenyan natives, who have been living in their own land for centuries, are guilty by not moving out, and the World Bank; a patron of wealthy families and rich nations, is the victim.
The 'World Bank', like the IMF, the Asian Development Bank and the African Development Bank, is a financial institution that looks into the infrastructure, social systems, civil society, superstructures, monetary policies and civil liberties of a State.
The perspective it adopts is to open native markets to western nations and hence 'privatise' national industries for transnational companies. In the case of Kenya and tropical nations, it means exploiting natural landscapes, rainforests and dense jungles for the accumulation of foreign capital at the expense of the indigenous State.
The policies as in Kenya, does not take into account natives already living in a designated area, as important, only the land and the deal made are what maters. Anything that results from 'deals' like the above are the fault of the State and never the international banks.
Usually, the 'clients' are developing world nations and the 'proposals' are in reality 'demands'. The consequences for refusal by an indigenous State can mean termination of welfare assistance by aid agencies, sanctions by the US on false pretences and if it is so severe, then removal of governments.
