I follow major sporting events like the World cups (Cricket & Football), olympics, NBA playoffs etc.. But something just struck me today.
Can the World Cups, Olympics and other sporting events be considered as a ritual of the kuffar? True they are not doing any acts of worship. But isn't it like a celebration every four years. And they follow certain formats like the opening ceremony, lighting of the Torch (olympics) etc...
So can these be considered some sort of ritual which we should avoid taking part in as true muslims?
I hope someone can answer this with clear evidences.
